Issue with Roon/microRendu/Project Digital S2

Hi, I’m having issues with my set-up. Basically what happens if I select the microRendu the songs start up for a millisecond, but then jump to the next until the album has been gone through. No sound, it just jumps from one song to the next. It shows the song title and you see the playback info roundel change quickly, but then its on to the next song.

I had an issue with my hard disk connected to my Rock unit, which took me some time to understand, leading to re-installing Rock on the device. After that I had to reinstall ffmpeg, but that all seems to have gone OK and the system works well with the Lumin D2 and the NAD T758.

Below is some code taken from the microRendu which seems to indicate issues, but I don’t understand what. I have reinstalled the software, sequentially rebooted the network, but still the below:

[0000168] 28.849 TRACE alsa output setup: format is pcm 352800/32/2

The Roon diagnostic info identifies the Project perfectly.

Any advise where to look further?

Thanks, Rene

Go ahead and update the unit, wait for the Back to Main Menu link, and reboot the unit. Now go to Settings / RoonReady and press Save. Also, make sure the DAC is listed in Apps / DAC Diagnostics.

@Jesus_Rodriguez

Hi Jesus, thanks for helping out. I did the above.

Upgrade went OK, no issues (had upgraded earlier)

Did the DAC test, got the following:

DAC description: Pre Box S2 Digital 2772:0230

I assume the above is correct.

I saved in Roon Ready and the system restarted/rebooted.

Went into Roon and selected default for the microRendu (which shows ‘USB output’ as connected, but shows the Pro-ject as the DAC.

Regretfully the same behaviour; a quick run through the songs on an album, but nothing plays.

Anything else I can try?

Cheers, Rene

Everything looks fine to me on our end. Your best bet is to get Roon support involved.

@Support

Jesus, thanks. Strange that the issue is only with the microRendu and not with the NAD or Lumin, but hopefully Roon support picks this up.

Cheers, Rene

Hi @Rene_Zwart,

So we can better assist you, please provide a brief description of your current setup using this link as a guide.

Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so we can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating.

Is there any difference in how the microRendu is connected compared to other endpoints?

Hi, thanks for the support. I have meantime been able to determine the issue is with the Pro-ject and not with Roon and/or the microRendu. Brgds, Rene
