Describe the issue

Roon Radio plays songs that i have banned for this Roon profile (but loved in another Roon profile)

Describe your network setup

Roon server is a NUC , I7, 32 GB Ram, 70k+ Tracks in Library with a mixture of local and Tidal/Qobuz.

This may be a regression, or a bug, I can’t tell. However, banned tracks should not be included in the queue created by Roon radio. Roon will assist when your ticket reaches the top of their support queue.

Hi @EinTo.Shuffle,

Thank you for the report. We should be able to investigate diagnostics for the timestamp and track available in the screenshot you sent. Please stand by and we’ll follow up with our conclusions.

Can you please elaborate on how you initiated Roon Radio? It looks like you used the Americana Genre page play button, but we’d like to confirm.

Hello , yes radio is started from the “Americana” genre.
Please note that the time is in the filename of the picture attached.

Hi @EinTo.Shuffle
Thanks for getting us that information to us. We’ve created a ticket with the dev team. While I cannot give an exact timeline for a fix please rest assured that it is being worked on.

Thanks for picking up on this.
I played some radio last night based upon artis “Rhiannon Giddens” which was quite good. Tonigh i started genre radio for “Americana” and the second song out was a track banned in my library for the actual Roon user. See attached pics for details. Please note that my local version is 44,1/24 while the Tidal version played is 44,1/16. My experience is that Roon radio more often than not picks the track with the highest quality.
// In genereal , and outside of this ticket , i would really like to be able to have more impact on what is actually played when starting radio.

Hey @EinTo.Shuffle,

We have an update to banned tracks coming with the next update that should help your situation. That said - Just a heads up - if you’re deliberately trying to trigger banning behavior with certain play actions, it will probably work as expected and play the banned track. Roon isn’t designed to resist your commands; when you take control, it follows.

If you ban something you don’t want to hear, it might take a couple of hours for Roon to fully update across the software. So if you ban a track and immediately start playing Roon Radio, there’s a chance you could still hear it before the update is complete.

If after the next Roon update you’re still having issues - please let us know! :+1:
