· None of these are listed. It simply says "TIMEDOUT" or similar.
System or third-party *firewalls *or *antivirus software* can sometimes block RoonServer from reaching ARC.
· Try adding RoonServer and its associated processes to the whitelist of any firewalls or antivirus software you have installed, including the Windows system firewall, if applicable. [You can learn more about firewall exceptions with Roon here.](https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/firewall)
Has the status in Roon -> Settings -> ARC changed after adding exceptions in your firewalls and antivirus software for Roon? I don't have any system or third-party firewalls or antivirus software.
Have you successfully located and enabled the UPnP or NAT-PMP settings in your router's web UI?
· I've turned UPnP/ NAT-PMP on and ARC won't connect

Describe the issue
My ISP is Salt (Switzerland). I've read in the forum, that there were problems with the router and settings with Salt. The topics were mostly from 2023 and older. Does anyone solved the problem and can give me useful information about it?
Describe your network setup
ISP: Salt Switzerland with the white Salt Box RoonServer runs on a MacBook Pro MacBook connected over WiFi, also tested wired to the router
Thank you for the link. I’ve now downloaded Tailscale on my phone and my Mac (running Roon Server). I registered for an account and that’s all running.
Now I stuck and don’t know what’s coming next. I’m not a specialist for networking. Who can help me get through this?
Oh, I found my mistake. I just had turned off port forwarding (setting port to “0”) on the Roon app on my Mac. I should also have set this in the Roon app on my iPhone. Therefore I had to turn WiFi back on. Once I had set port to “0” on both devices, connection was possible. Maybe that could be clarified in the resource.
Hm, now I take care of “bad connection” while trying to play a song… stoney road this ARC feature.
Thank you for linking this resource. I’m getting crazy… it still doesn’t work. Here’s what I’ve done now:
Setting up Tailscale on both my Mac (Roon Server) and my iPhone, both connected.
Restarting Roon on the Mac.
Re-startet ARC on the iPhone => with WiFi turned off => “not accessible outside your network”
Roon on Mac => Settings => ARC: setting port to “0”: still have the 504 error
The resource above says the status has to be “not ready” (why this?). The provided screenshot displays an success status (code 200). So my status actually is “not ready”, but with code 504.
That’s actually not the case. Doing it once is enough - it happens on the server, of which there is only one.
Because the check that decides the ready / not ready status refers to the port forwarding, not Tailscale. It still shows “not ready” if Tailscale works. (I think Roon Labs mentioned somewhere that they will integrate a Tailscale check, too, but it’s not done yet).
Just ignore the whole check, it means nothing at all in the Tailscale case.
Unfortunately, I have no idea. In every other case I saw on the forum, it just worked. What does it show in the ARC app > Settings > Connected?
My last two posts are in the wrong order. The problem really was, that I had to set the port to “0” both on the Mac and the iPhone. Now it’s working fine.
I don’t get it (there is only one server instance to which the setting applies regardless of which remote you use to look at it), but I suppose as long as it works it should be fine Enjoy and a happy New Year!
