I tried two different routers (using a Fritzbox 4040 and a Zyxel), I tried three different cores (all macs) and I have the same issue on two different setups in two houses - only with my LSX:
Listening to album works perfectly. No interruptions. When I switch on shuffle or play a playlist or Roon Radio the music stops after nearly every song at the last second of the song, no error, nothing. Sometimes it starts by itself on the next title after 5-20 minutes, mostly it does not. No issue with this playing on a bluesound Pulse Flex or with my RME Adi II that is directly connected to my core over USB.
As it happens on both routers and on all cores and all sites it seems to be a KEF LSX Problem. Anybody else using those speakers?
With the newer macbook M4 Pro it sometimes plays 2-3 songs without stopping. On the older macbook it stops after every song - but only while shuffeling or playing playlists, if I play the album it works perfectly! No difference in putting the LSX wire ethernet or wifi, all the same. I cannot attach the macbook to the router via LAN, so this is no option.
On this photo you see the behavior - music stops at the last second and stays quiet.
Setup: Macbook Pro M4 Pro via WIFI at a FritzBox 4040 (Zyxel same behavior) to KEF LSX 1 via Ethernet.
I have the LSX and have noted a similar problem, i.e. occasionally Roon will do exactly what you have observed, but only at the end of the last track of an album. I haven’t noticed it happening with playlists.

The coressponding log entries do seem to indicate that this is an issue with how Roon is talking to the LSX:

The “position timer, not triggering” message repeats until the track is manually stopped.
It’s perhaps also worth noting, that in both our cases, the position indicator seems to have extended one second beyond the end of the track and then got stuck.
I’m not sure if you have reported this to Roon (I couldn’t find a current Support request from you) but if you wish Roon’s technical team to investigate please create support request (as per instructions above).
If you do have an older existing topic and it’s auto-closed ping me with a link and I’ll reopen it for you.
I have the same problem, I submitted to Roon support, and they got back to me saying that it’s a known issue specific to KEF LSX and they are working on it.
My first idea too, but at step 5 I cannot pick a right answer - I see the zone and it works and there is no way to skip this. I did disable the software packet acceleration on the fritzbox and the standard troubleshooting. All firmware and software is up to date.
