Hi All ,
Thanks for the update. The team is still looking into this issue. We’re working with our hardware team to try to reproduce the issue and we’ve reached out to Linn to see if they can assist with this.
@Torben_Rick - I tried to enable diagnostics for your account to look over those timestamps but it looks like your logs are not coming in through properly or are mostly empty. Can you please use these instructions to try to manually access your logs and upload a log set for review? Thanks!

Thanks @noris
The log files has been uploaded. The should be two cases in log files where I had to reboot Linn due to back-up today. I think the latest was around 18 hour German time today.
When losing the connection the Linn app and its functions are still working. I can play music with JPLAY (Asset UPnP) - almost never use it.
Today the problem was not related to HDMI and television - the television was not on when it happend. So I am back to the same problems that startet in December 2024 and has been reportet i different support cases.
Colin from Linn Customer Support support know about the case.
Besides this problem everyting works fine and stable. No problems
Thanks
Torben
@noris - Based on my experience it sems to me, that some kind of “Handshake” sometimes goes wrong. I did mange to make three backups (just for testing) this morning without losing the connection to my Linn. So right now the “Handshake” worked.
Sometimes the “Handshake” is working - like in this timeframe - and sometimes it do not (in most cases).
Torben
When I got my first Klimax DSM 4.5 years ago, I experienced occasional issues that fit that description. But after router and switch changes (in part for other reasons), I never experienced them again. Coincidence?
No, has nothing to do with that. “Handshake” is in bracket because could not find the right word. Look what you wrote:

Endpoint discovery can fail in different ways but similar consequences. My recollection is that multicast discovery and certain network switches/routers did not play well together, which is part of why Linn recommended very basic unmanaged switches. My other scenario is just a hypothesis based on some of the symptoms discussed here.
I am using an unmanaged switche (Realtek RTL8382L chip) and have absolut no problems with the switch.
Torben
Have you tried the Linn Streaming choice availble in your Linn app?.
I dont have any equipment directly connected to my router, i use an ethernet cable to an unmanaged 8 port Zyxel 2.5gbe switch.
This is in my bedroom upstairs.
I have another unmanaged Zyxel 5 port 2.5gbe switch downstairs for my other equipment including my Linn Klimax DS/3 with Organik/ Utopik upgrades.
I did have the popping sound happening with the last Davaar release, but that has been sorted with the latest version.
Touch wood i have not had any major networking problems here in my own ethernet set up.
My previous streamer a Linn Akurate DS/Katalyst never suffered any problems…
I side stepped the Selekt option as i preferred the Klimax streaming choice.
With its options installed there is no huge performance gap to the NGDSM option.
Hope you get your problem solved as it does degrade your listening experience.
P.S my Full Fibre is connected to a Flint 2 router from gNet in use instead of a poor EE supplied device…
@noris - I have now uploaded new log files as it happend again with HDMI in use.
I hope this can help you locate the problem.
Have a nice WE

@dennis_mclaughlin – yes, and Qobuz from the Linn App seems to work fine, without interruption.
Two mitigating hacks I have discovered to keep Roon up and rolling for as long as possible:
Do a soft reboot of the Selekt preemptively from the Linn App – in advance of a listening session. That seems to clear the lines, so to speak.
Avoid excess “Roon Surfing” while listening to the Linn. Regrettably, this takes away a lot of the fun of Roon.
I will also work on deleting some of the nearly 80,000 files from my Roon internal storage. This database has grown over time and many tracks bear little to no resemblance to their standardized titles; others have complex foldering; etc. I speculate and hypothesize that these contribute to my issue because the vast majority of outages happen when I access internally stored files, as opposed to streaming from Qobuz.
I have learned that Roon has dropped its dealer support and has let its software bloat. The bloat reminds me of Outlook and Skype. Hopefully for those of us who have paid for a lifetime subscription, someone will fix these issues.
(cc: @Jozo_Slejko, @Torben_Rick, @Fernando_Pereira, @danny / @Danny_Dulai1 ), one mitigating hack that seems to help
Selekt was never my next move with Linn streaming.
I had an Akurate DS from 2014 and upgraded it to Katalyst in 2018.
I live in Waterfoot village outside Glasgow…the home of Linn Products and have had many visits to the factory over the years.
My local hifi store in Glasgow ‘Loud N Clear’ lent me a Klimax DS years ago over the weekend when it was retailing @ £18k…
When Organik dac arrived i had a serious demo of the new dac compared to the older Katalyst.
I sold my Akurate DS/Katalyst and purchased a Klimax DS/3 Katalyst.
I have upgraded the Klimax to Organik and Utopik and now its an awesome streaming device.
I tend to switch off the Klimax after each session and log off from Roon as well.
My own music library is on an Asustor Nas, but i find that Qobuz’s extensive hi-res library makes mine redundant.
I have a vinyl collection which gets some play with my LP12.
The Selekt Edition was a big step for me from a BluSound Node but it has the Utopik and I splurged for the Organik. Worth it!!

@Torben_Rick, this seems related to my issue that started this thread. Thanks for keeping up with it.
We appreciate you checking in on the thread! We understand how important this issue is to you, and we want to reassure you that our hardware team is actively working with Linn to find a solution.
That said, frequent check-ins won’t speed up the process, and they can sometimes take time away from the team’s ongoing efforts. The same goes for commenting on other threads that share any relation (again, we appreciate it but we’re aware of any relations and discuss such cases internally ). As soon as we have new information to share, we’ll update this thread right away. If the thread happens to close before that, don’t worry—we’ll reopen it as soon as we have an update or if we need any additional details from those affected.
This issue remains a priority for us, and while progress may take some time, please know it’s not being overlooked. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward a resolution. Thanks again for sticking with us!
Thanks @benjamin - After almost 2 1/2 months since the problem was reported the first time, I am looking forward to the solution

While I love Linn sound quality, their firmware in the last few years has been a mess. I fortunately do not have the Selekt-going-offline issue on my Klimax systems, but I’ve contended with multiple firmware issues in the last two years, from failed firmware updates that left systems wedged and in need of factory resets (a long process for DSM+active speakers) to a startup bug on my Klimax 360 actives that is still present and was not acknowledged by Linn for months after I bought the 360s, and has not yet been fixed although finally acknowledged.
@Fernando_Pereira - Not sure where the problem is. I just know, that the connection is lost when doing a:
It happens 8/10 cases.
Not sure about Roon SW update.
When the connection ist lost, the Linn App is still working.
Torben
PS: Users who have the same problem. Login to Linn Account an perform a “Reboot” - that is better than doing a “Power-Off” on the back
I’ve owned a wide range of Linn DSs since 2008, and have updated the firmware a great many times over the years without issue.
The most recent update, however, failed on our KDS (with Organik), necessitating the use of the fallback button. It took a lot less time to resolve than it would have done for you as I only have a passive system with Solos, but I have read of a few update failures that folk with Selekt DSMs have had with recent builds, so this is a little concerning to say the least.
