Maybe a dedicated button would be useful as itâs easier to discover and may reduce friction. However, until then:
As you mention a mouse, it seems that you are talking about the PC version of the remote. If so, be aware that there are much more powerful/convenient ways to multi-select than long-pressing every item and clicking every checkmark.
Select multiple individual albums by holding the Ctrl on Windows / Command on Mac key and then clicking (short left click) each item to add to the selection.
You also select ranges easily:
Select an album (with long click, Ctrl+Click or rightclick) to select the first in the range
Hold Shift and click the last in the range, all between will be selected.
You can also select several ranges at once by repeating this with different range start points.
Optionally, add to the multi-selection with additional clicks on individual items.
(This multi-selection works with all kinds of things like albums, tracks, artists. You can then apply, for instance, an edit (like credits) to all of them at once.)
These are not possible on iOS / Android as multi-selection there requires to check every item, and there is no range selection as far as I know. However, this applies not only to the new feature but everywhere.
This, to my mind, is a great feature for one specific reason. I have always used streaming services to identify new music, either through Roon or directly in Tidal or Qobuz. Adding music to favourites or a Roon library means that both Roon and Tidal/Qobuz use it as a basis for recommendations, not realising that I may or may not like music I have in some way âfavouritedâ so that I can come back to it later.
The result for me is that I tend to get suggestions that include a very high proportion of tracks that I dislike from artists who I donât know, so I mostly ignore such lists. I hope I am right in assuming that when you add something to your listen later list it is not incorrectly used (either by Roon or by Tidal/Qobuz) as a basis for any form of recommendation, including Roonâs daily mixes, Qobuz my weekly Q, etc.
Very grateful for this feature. I didnât even know I needed it until now
Looking forward to tidying up my library by moving all of my Listen Later adds to their rightful place.
You are not on a Windows PC then. All I have to do is right click on a line and it is selected. Then once done selecting, only have to click the 3 dot menu once and the Remove from Listen Later once.
On Windows on the Listen Later page, you just need to right click to select, no Ctrl necessary.
This doesnât work for me on the Listen Later page
Sure, this works everywhere else, too, but I find Ctrl more convenient and consistent with other apps. But my point was mainly that one doesnât need to âlong press each item and wait for the check mark to appear.â
Hmmm. I couldnât try this when I posted but I assumed it would work now because it didnât but the latest Early Access release notes statedâŚ
If it doesât work for you, maybe this fix didnât make it into release.
In any case, IMHO it should clearly support the same interactions as any other items.
You do get this one button delete once the album is listened to (and what listened to means is adjustable in the settings). In fairness to roon a one button delete in listened to makes sense, if you have added them and not listened why would you want an easy delete option?
It seems that the issue persists. If I add an album to the library from the LL list I can no longer remove any album from LL until I restart Roon. This just makes the future useless for me. Running Roon on Rockna Wavedream NET, clients on macOS and iOS.
Hi, you forgot to implement the âPlay Actionsâ (Settings > Play actions).
Just like you forgot to implement this when you added the Folder functionality.
Please make this app more solid, its so inconsistent since 1.5/6 unbelievable.
Stop putting all you effort in new functionality!
Thanks.
Also; this can be done with your also last introduced âSmart Playlistâ.
I already have a nice âListen laterâ TAG with a smart playlist connected on it. Together with âShow playlist linksâ.
Please fix the real problems with this app! (like memory leak after adding new content, moving multiple tracks around, inconsistency of views, missing some basic features from 1.5 where you could queue to another endpoint, show play/when played in album view, fix play actions, fix Identification, add some proper network buffering ffs)
Also please take a look to your Requested Features forum. I assume this new feature was not at the top on that list!
Stop putting effort in functionality that was already thereâŚ
I sometimes dream on how good this application could be.
