Describe the issue

Windows asks for login data when trying to access ROCK

Describe your network setup

ROCK NUC

I want to add I used ROCK for about a year and it never asked for login information in the Windows explorer.
Could be something to do with a Windows update?

Did you update to Windows 11 24H2? If so, Microsoft disabled anonymous SMB access and the instructions in this post will help you reinstate it:

Yes, I did install 24H2
I did try steps 6 & 7 from your link, no luck. Now it doesn’t ask for password but still fails.
I dont really know how to perform steps 1-4 on my NUC11TNH BIOS.
Anyone knows how to do all this?

Steps 1-5 are irrelevant because they apply to NAS devices where you can change settings. You can’t do that on ROCK, so steps 6 & 7 apply.

Doublecheck that you did everything right. Also reboot Windows and ROCK just to be sure.

If this doesn’t help, how does it still fail? What happens exactly?

Hey man thank you so much! It finally works!!!
I’ve tried to solve this since last night. And even had to reinstall Windows 11 in the process because I had a bluescreen of death when starting Windows
Here are the screenshots in German and it works now again.

Glad it helped! It’s a bit annoying and should be mentioned in the ROCK and Nucleus documentation for SMB access - I gave this feedback to Roon Labs already.
