Thanks for this. I posted a link to this in Feedback
Well that did it even if I do not have a NAS. I would have never figured that out. Thank you.
Brilliant. Thanks - sorted for me.
Does not work for me. Roon server is completely hidden on my windows 11 computer. It has become extremely frustrating; it is as if it doesn’t exist.
Well it worked in November but now, as of April 2025, Roon has disappeared and none of these suggestion help. Really frustrating.
If you need help with this, you should open a new topic by clicking here → Support and then Get Help.
Most likely, you just have to do this:
And in case it then shows you a window to enter username/password, the instructions from above in this thread should help.
He has already done that:
Oh OK, then he is in your capable hands
Though in the other thread it’s not clear if he tried entering \\NUCLEUS\Data\Storage\InternalStorage into the File Explorer’s address bar
I made the mistake of adding the \nucleus\data\storage\internalstorage in the search bar rather than the address bar. I tried the address bar instead and all worked. Never would have guessed that would have been the answer. Thanks for the help.
Great! Unfortunately, through a combination of Windows and Roon OS behaviors, the Nucleus isn’t always automatically shown under Network in the File Explorer, so it may be necessary to tell it the full address like you did.
To avoid this, you can map the address to a drive letter. Then it will always be accessible under Drives in the Explorer. See How do I map a network drive on this help page:
This needs to be Retitled and Pinned as a top topic for Roon Nucleus.
One day everythings fine, then next stupid security messages.
POST THIS AS A STICKY as: Cannot connect to Roon Nucleus via SMB, or bettter yet update this support article: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/trouble-connecting-to-rock-nucleus-data-folder-from-windows
I’ve already raised with Roon Labs that that Help article needs updating, and they’ve confirmed that it’s on their to-do list.
But it would be of course much more helpful if they could update Roon OS in a way that all this would no longer be necessary and customers get (back) the easy to use Roon appliance for users that can not or want not mess around with settings and komplex configurations (on their PC/notebook).
There was a post by one of the support guys a few days ago confirming that a solution is in the works.
