Describe the issue

I am experiencing the same problem listed here on my (https://community.roonlabs.com/t/mac-stuck-on-waiting-for-your-roon-server-connection-issue-ref-4a55c4/265349)Mac Mini running Catalina. Also, when I try the suggested solution by opening /Applications/Roon.app/Contents/RoonServer.app I can't execute it: by clicking on the icon, I don't get any result. I tried launching the app from terminal `open /Applications/Roon.app/Contents/RoonServer.app
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/Roon.app/Contents/RoonServer.app. `

Describe your network setup

Core is running on a Mac Mini (Late 2014 with 4GB of RAM running MacOS 10.15.7) is wired to the router. I have successfully run it until a few days ago when it crashed and didn't not restart. I tried to reinstall Roon.

Could it be that you are experiencing the error known to have occurred for some users on older macOS versions and described here?

If so, you might want to try the procedures detailed in that thread to apply a hot fix which was released recently to correct it.

Good luck!

Thanks, but with that hot fix I am running in circles and not solving anything. I am going to try my luck with installing ubuntu on my mac and then roonserver

Hi @Francesco_Bailo,

To confirm, does the same issue occur if you temporarily pause your Mac firewall? Here’s more info on ensuring Roon is listed as a proper exception:

Let me know, thanks!

Hi Benjamin - I have now installed Ubuntu on the same machine and noticed a significant performance improvement.
