Marantz Cinema Line [HEOS] - When is it Roon Ready?

Yes - the Roon Ready devices that were uncertified have all disappeared.

Looks like RHEOS may remain of use for a while longer

It appears so. I wonder if they added it to just gauge interest from users. Maybe there wasn’t enough interest, ors its proving too difficult to implement or they just thought to remove it and test outside of the main releases like others do. Any ones guess but as HEOS only release quarterly usually I doubt we will see if this happening unitl Summer at earliest if they are continuing with certification implementation.

If it were easy it would have been done when they initially went for the Roon Tested designation. It was very frustrating to see how poorly this was done.

I see the major challenges being the integration of grouping between the two systems and the control of multiple zones on the AVRs which has long been a feature of Denon/Marantz receivers but took a while for Denon to manage at all well with HEOS.

Maybe they’ll achieve fully gapless on difficult classical albums though!

Perhaps I should see if they want to make me an offer… 11,000 + downloads of RHEOS from docker alone makes me think there is interest - even if this represents repeat downloads of multiple versions.

BluOS doesnt even manage zones on AVR’s its to main zone only on the NAD AVR I had.

But RHEOS does. Took some creativity but it works nicely in practice these days.

I gave up on NAD BluOS long ago when it couldn’t manage more than a few devices grouped.

I gave up when I was on ny 4th replacement unit.!!!

If you all write to Marantz instead of writing here, the chance to get Roon ready would be 100%

They do not read this

So how exactly does RHEOS work?

I hate HEOS because of the play queue, but it’s the only way of getting CD Quality to my Marantz AVR.

Thanks

Are you aware that HDMI from Roon will play high res up to the limits the Marantz is capable of? 192/24.

Welcome to the community.

But that requires connection direct from a roon endpoint via HDMI.

It’s still a “Beta” test version so if you hit issues or have questions please pm me or join the thread here where we discuss new releases and try to help solve problems (usually with unusual set up choices).

I’ve reached out to Denon Customer Service today and they advised that RR certification process is still in progress and they waiting to be finalized with Roon and this can take some time.
They do not have an ETA but they did get an update early this week letting them know there was a little hold up in the certification process so it is being worked on, at least they hope to have this available as quickly as possible.
Roon Tested was enabled for remaining time of certification process.

It famously took Hegel years to get Roon Ready certified, with their poor exec having to apologize on these forums on a near weekly basis.

Difference here being Marantz/Denon have not officially said anything about applying for certification, it’s only from rumours and speculations and them releasing firmware that showed it up last time which was an odd thing to do.

Both my Marantz (model cd50n and cinema 40) is not longer “ready” or tested. Will find them under “other products” (AirPlay)
My new Denon Home 350 to
Denon is useless with Roon
Full volume and no control
Can’t control volume from Roon. Tried fixed and device volume and the speaker will explode

What are they doing?

That is so weird. The Roon partner page is actually showing the CD 50n as Roon Ready. Marantz are really making a mess of things.

That’s interesting. I think ROON maintains that page - and it’s usually definitive.

Something is happening but it’s causing great confusion!

If you try using RHEOS you will get full control of volume and the ability to group your 350 with other HEOS players from ROON.
