Marantz Cinema Line [HEOS] - When is it Roon Ready?

Thank you for clarifying. There’s considerable anticipation of this approval for many ROON users with HEOS devices.

Hi @jamie,

Would it be possible to specify on the Roon Partners page whether Roon Ready multichannel devices are limited to stereo when streaming to them using Roon?

HEOS doesn’t support Mulitchannel at all with current generation hardware, Roon will use the HEOS hardware stack . It would need a HEOS 3 architecture to support it. They said that already in on of those videos.

Thanks, but this would still be helpful information for Roon to include on its partners page for every multichannel-capable Roon Ready device.

I have also heard allusions to Roon in interviews with Roland Krüger and others. Maybe they just didn’t make it with the U33 update.
I hope this will be delivered with the next update… I don’t enjoy streaming to my AV10 via Airplay… RAAT should already be there.

Try RHEOS in the meanwhile if you are/would like to explore any Roon extensions.

I would like to
But can not get it to work with Mac mini M1
Hope someone with experience will write a manual for us with Mac
Or HEOS with all resources will employ a person who understand how far away back they are compared to bluesond … and others

If you are able to install not using a docker image but downloading from GitHub and following the instructions to install nodejs and the extension this may work. There is a compiled version of the code included for Mac but I am unable to test myself. Happy to try and help but certainly no promises of success!

Thank you Peter for your input and your RHEOS solution.
I have Roon running on a Synology NAS and I don’t want to bother with workarounds right now.
I hope for a Roon integration of my AV10 soon.

And if not, it will be Roon’s problem at some point…

Greetings

New U33.2 firmware
has been released today but no sign of Roon Ready yet

Just a maintenance fix I presume. I doubt we we’ll see it if at all until July/August time. Given the delay with all certification at moment maybe longer. It will happen when it happens. Best not get stressed about it. In the meantime RHEOS fills a very important gap.

It took Hegel a couple of years to go from “coming soon” to “actually here”.

U34 is expected in mid July I guess

U34 firmware was released today, no Roon Ready however it is worth to mention that Tidal Connect feature has been added

It is now really disappointing…
According to an official Denon/Marantz employee, the stereo components should be certified in June and the surround components in July. Supposedly there are around 40 devices at Roon…
It’s starting to give me the impression of a certain political… when small brands are constantly being added and a big player is being pushed… really not good…

They just dont have the staff to manage that many devices in one go. Not one brand has ever sent that many to be certified in one go.

It’s worth remembering the Hegel’s Roon certification process took many years… for whatever reason, it can be a slow moving boat.

As per below development roadmap only RR is behind the schedule:

I saw that video with the Masimo guy too and yes it is very disappointing. The units are sent to Roon Labs in February.

I can not understand this slow process because a lot of people use HEOS enabled stuff. There are so many potential customers that could try and purchase a Roon subscription.

Roon Ready is coming to Marantz/ Denon. It’s in their mutual best interest. Patience.
