If I understand your question correctly, no matter what input you have the SACD 30n set on (CD, coax, optical, USB, etc), when you have the 30n selected as the zone in Roon, when you hit play in Roon, the 30n will automatically switch to music server mode and begin playing music from Roon. The music in Roon can be anything, local files or streaming services.

OK thanks guys, so it will auto-switch to Roon, so is using the Ethernet (or WiFi?) network inputs on the Marantz to stream, e.g., Tidal, or any local networked folders? Is that correct?
What about if the Marantz has, say, a USB drive plugged in to its USB input, can Roon see and control those files? (This might well be a dumb question, sorry!).
No. It is an endpoint, not a file server.
