Meridian218 is no longer recognized

After updating ROON, it no longer recognized ROON Tested’s Meridian218.
Like the last time I solved it myself, it doesn’t recognize it even if I restart my Mac.

Affected Product

Roon

Roon Issue Category

Networking

Description of Issue

I had the same problem before, but after updating today, Meridian218 no longer recognizes it as ROON Tested.

Roon Server Platform

macOS

Roon Server Specifications

M1 Mac Book 32GB/521GB

Connected Audio Devices

ZEN DAC Signazture V2

Home Network Details

Ethernet

As a first step you can try and turn off your Roon Server, all the related networked devices (including switches and the internet router) and then start powering on the system again starting with the router (wait 'till he finished booting) and then the necessary network devices all the way back to your Roon Server, the Roon Server itself and the remaining turned off devices (if still any).
If the device still doesn’t come back in Roon you can also try and have a look at your Roon Server (and RAATServer) log files. Official support may come back to you and your case here when it reaches the top of their cue but … maybe also have a look at the thread below and other threads about the Meridian 218 meanwhile:

Perhaps not related, but speak to your ‘Meridian partner’.

There’s a recent software update for some Meridian products that might help - this might not be related but it’s worth a try.

thank you.

It was recognized correctly until I updated Roon.

Should I still do what you say?

@Daifuku_Marui - I had occasional network & Roon ‘irregularities’ with my 218 and I don’t know if the new Meridian firmware has improved this specifically, but sometimes it’s a good idea to keep up to date.

It’s true that my FW of 218 is old.
However, my retailer says there are no required updates,
but I will check with Meridian in the UK.

I had a similar problem before,
and it was resolved with the Roon updater that came out soon after updating Roon,
so I think it’s a problem with Roon.

Hey @Daifuku_Marui,

Good to see you on community again - sorry to hear you’re having continued issues with the 218. Two things to test out for you:

  1. Reinstall/update the firmware of the 218. Meridian recently released an update that may help you here.
  2. Test out using a different Roon Server device, and see if your issues persist.

Let me know how it goes :+1:

Dear @benjamin

Thank you for your good advice.

  1. I think I need Meridian Device Manager, but I don’t know where to download it. (By the way, my roon server is a Mac)

Also, when I contacted My Japanese store, they said that there was no valid firmware (that is, a bug in Roon). Should you still try it?

  1. I don’t have another roon server.

  2. Furthermore, after updating roon this morning, I was no longer able to enable Diretta.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but please advise me.

Hi @Daifuku_Marui,

You can try this for Mac: ‎MERIDIAN AUDIO LIMITED Apps on the App Store

Yes, as other users have mentioned updating/reinstalling the recent update was helpful with their 218s.

Dear @benjamin
After installing Device Manager on my Mac, it now recognizes the device.
However, there was no function install FW.
I received a lot of advice, but unfortunately my dealer was adamant that there was no need for a firmware update, so we couldn’t move forward with the conversation.
thank you.
