Nice surprise - I know a couple of us were chatting Times of Grace earlier in this thread before it got split into monthly editions. Totally forgot about the fact there’s a new album, and saw it came out today
If you’ve listened to the first album, you know what to expect. Solid, but not breaking the mould - not that that’s a bad thing necessarily.

AT LAST! Been patiently waiting for today.
I was expecting better from Maiden.
EDIT: No wonder, it’s a Smith/Dickinson special.
It’s not bad bad but also not something to write home about. Let’s what else they will release.
This is rather enjoyable at the beach. Somewhere between Pirate and Viking, and makes me want to hit the Rum in the middle of the afternoon

Not bad, but not outstanding either.
I think Iron Maiden have their best time behind them.
The last consistently good album for me was “Brave New World”. On all other albums after that, there were good songs every now and then, but as a whole I didn’t find any of them really convincing.
But they’ve done their life’s work some time ago, so it’s OK not to write the very best songs anymore.
And the “Blaze Bayley” time: Partially very good songs, but with the singing I can not make friends until today. Maybe “Axl Rose” would have done a better job.
