@KURT_SMITH, welcome to the Community. Just a fellow user here, but Roon cannot be migrated from one Mac to another using Apple’s Migration Assistant. Is your 2014 Mac mini still available from which to make a backup of your database from within Roon? If so, I believe you will need to delete Roon from your M1 mini and follow the guidelines below on migrating your Core to the M1 mini:
I assume I am to download a new version onto the M1. Is there somewhere in the guidelines that says that? Or is “it will run on any version” supposed to make that obvious? If it was, I wouldn’t be asking for help here.
Of course my Roon is backed up. Its been on that the old mac mini for years and backed up regularly. So the backup was migrated to the M1…would that not be correct?
I don’t know if Migration Assistant will restore Roon properly (I know Time Machine doesn’t). You may have to restore Roon using a backup created by Roon.
You will need to uninstall Roon from the M1 mini completely, and then download and install a fresh copy from Roon’s download link. On the M1 mini restore from a backup created on the 2014 mini.
