If your Mac’s on Sequoia then this has caused problems with many apps and USB and network. There is a workaround.
Also check all macs are on the same subnet as each other.
My mac works fine as a zone with just the Roon app. I don’t use as one though only a remote. My server runs on Linux same applies if it’s on a Mac.
