Multiple Streaming / Family Accounts and Roon Profiles (Tidal, Qobuz, ...)

After only recently discovering this absent feature I’m still optimistic that this will someday happen. I hope that it becomes a reality soon.

Yes please, that would be a much appreciated feature!
+1 for Tidal family profiles

Christmas is coming. Buy a second Roon lifetime subscription for the family to use. The gift that keeps on giving. :christmas_tree:

Question: Would that be a gift to the family, or a gift to yourself to stop your family polluting your Roon history and playlists?

Yes (10 char)

@Jim_F ,

That’s not ideal Jim, although I hate to admit it what you’re saying makes perfect sense.

I look for solutions to problems. I have three lifetime subscriptions for various reasons.

I’ve just completed my first year with Roon and it’s significantly transformed my listening experience with my 12,000+ FLAC album library. However, the inability to use my Qobuz Family account with the Roon server is a major drawback. This is a significant factor preventing me from considering a lifetime Roon subscription.

I’m curious if anyone has reached out to Tidal or Qobuz to inquire about modifying their family accounts for Roon compatibility. I plan to do so and will share Qobuz’s response.

In the meantime, Roon, please consider addressing this limitation.

Just an update. After changing my login/password on Qobuz (I previously logged in via my Google account), I am now able to successfully run Qobuz within Roon today. I’m unsure if this was a result of the login/password change, an update within Roon, or a change on Qobuz’s end. Give it a shot folks, and keep us posted.

I just added my vote! We are also considering the tidal family plan since one account for all family members is not the thing you want  hope it can be implemented in the near future!

kind regards

I also vote for ability to have a unique set of streams per profile!

I too am adding my voice (and vote) to this. As current member the inability to associate each Roon profile with their own Tidal account is becoming a dealbreaker for me.

I also want to add my vote to the idea of Tidal family account integration in Roon. I also have a family account within our 4 person family but in Roon eeverybody uses my account.

Also I vote for Roon to enable this feature.

This is a really important feature. A lot of the other stuff about smart this and that are pointless unless subscribers can’t use the software in a way that works for them…

This needs to be added please - voted.

That’s brave! I couldn’t cope with the rubbish they add to my library

In all seriousness though, Roon are missing out on hooking my near-adult children, who are seriously into music (and I have given them the hifi bug), but they do not use Roon because I discourage it. Similarly, I only recommend Roon to my friends with the reservation that they cannot use it for their household. A shame, really.

Not having this feature is a major reason I don’t think I’ll be subscribing to Roon. What good are separate profiles if we’re sharing the same Tidal account? My wife has tons of playlists and a whole different catalogue of music in her Tidal account. Trying to combine them would just lead to a mess.

Please make this a priority feature and have external libraries tied to profiles.

I agree. Did you both vote with the button at the top?

Indeed, I was also looking into Roon primarily to use with Qobuz, but this is a dealbreaker as my wife needs to b be able to use it with her Qobuz profile simultaneously.
So no Roon for us.

And I also voted, but it feels quite redundant as this topic is from 2017? So after 7 (!) years, nothing.
