Music Germany corner

Great presenter, and a great singer! Love her late night show :+1:

it’s time to feed the Germany corner

The young generation of artists here in Germany can also be gentle and are mentioned in the same row as Suzanne Vega or Maria Mena (after touring).

new album

Roon Radio suitably gives this in context:

AND OF COURSE MANY OLD KNOWN ARTISTS

A symphonic metal band from Germany. There are a few good album’s from this band

I’m sure this kind of music is not to everyone’s taste, but I think it’s just too awesome not to share it with others.
In general I like contrasts in music, for example sugary sweet vocals paired with deep growls.
In my proposal (the real point pairs “chav” vocals with very human lyrics.
Regardless of our political views, I hope we all want peace, and that’s what this song is about (I just finished sychronizing the lyrics of this album).

And one more song I want to throw behind it:

This song will not only touch people who are not parents (like me).
Of course you have to translate/interpret/understand the lyrics correctly.

Because there is so much good music, I have neglected rock a bit. Now I want to move there again with German Indie Rock. Since 2002 Juniper Jones rock not only in Germany. There is also acoustic music for the ears.

and live with Bosse in Hamburg 2019

or Frankfurt Oder

The Germany tour continues with seamless transitions from Bosse to Anna Loos to Silly via Frankfurt Oder to Leipzig and Berlin

Of course in German language

In the Germany corner, the new fresh music may not be missing. Hip-hop and rap are not always accessible to older semesters, but some street musicians manage to preach the easy life and show contrasts to it.

After I have already posted rather society incompatible things in this thread, I would now like to draw attention to an artist, with possibly more people can do something.

I think she is quite unknown, although she was already active for Udo Lindenberg and the Farin Urlaub Racing Team. I’m talking about Celina Bostic, whose range goes from acoustic guitar music to pop/hip hop and punk rock.

Every day is a gift for her

Have not heard for a few years, thank you

Du machst immer, was Du sollst
Hast davon die Nase voll
Dieses Fließbandleben
Kann nicht alles sein

Du trÀumst davon, durchzudrehen
Einmal nackt im Regen stehen
Glaub mir Du bist nicht allein
Lass uns wieder wie Kinder sein

Ich glaub an den Moment
Das ist meine Religion
An wahre Freunde und
An ein Leben vor dem Tod
Bald ist es vorbei
Es geht schneller als man denkt
Doch wozu traurig sein?
Jeder Tag ist ein Geschenk

Putting this here, not because it’s German, but because it’s from Berlin, and an excellent album!

A rediscovery with Roon for me was meeting Pete Wyoming Bender.

I Loved This Woman was released in the early 80s and sounds like French chanson. The musical range goes further, as Born To Be Indian was already released as a single in 1978. Born of Indian descent in Germany (now France), he worked in the Berlin area at the end of his life. He spent much of his life in Saarland.

His work can be further explored here at Qobuz.

For the vinyl friends, I explored Discogs:

After his death in 2014, a remarkable obituary was written.

It ends tragically here:

and then to his farewell song:

What a life for music:

In his twilight years:

The presentation of Salvadore Adamo is not perfect from the German point of view. Qobuz still shines the best there. There are two songs in the program that were very successful in Germany. What is no longer fashionable, every music lover determines for himself. Some still recognize the joke and are happy about these songs. I hope the translation helps. Before that, a tear goes on a journey.

Not to forget one of my favorites here:

I last heard him at the Bonn Jazz Festival

Thank you I am just exploring. My first contact with these artists of improvisation. Since I am still growing in classical and jazz, I get completely new impressions. Chaotic and rhythmic at the same time. eminds me a bit of my impressions when I first heard Kraftwerk.

Sophisticated music from talented artists. That must have been four beautiful days in Berlin.

Thank you
But definitely I have to add someone else, a highly appreciated German artist of my younger days, through whom I came to jazz.
Still valued, here his latest album:

“A jazz album without frippery, a pleasurable leap into the past without any hint of nostalgia, a lot of fun and, last but not least, another damn good story.”

The german wiki for the band:

It seems like I’m always looking for another genre connection to jazz. I respond well via electronic or downtempo and then enjoy the influences of jazz presented by De-Phazz or DePhazz depending on the spelling.
