I had a quite long mail thread with a representative from Bluesound on mail, and she confirmed that she had reported the issue (I gave a lot of context) to their dev team to look at after some mails forth and back. Haven’t heard back yet, but I try keep the hope up… For now all my 12 zones in the house (3x NAD CI580v2) I can basically not use Roon … The only thing that work sis grouping up groups in BlueOS and then play towards them in Roon. Can’t group them with any other devices or zones in Roon though, because then the inconsistencies arise.
It’s quite clear Bluesound don’t put a high focus on maintaining the Roon stability… it seems they ignore working on it as they “already got the certification” and I wonder how Roon can tolerate that… they should remove the certification…
Hello there
Following the thread here, I requested NAD an older firmware of my device
Here the réponse I got:
Thank you for contacting The NAD Electronics Support Crew.
Based on the information you have provided, the issue you are experiencing appears to be related specifically to ROON. It may be best to reach out to ROON directly at ROONLabs.com
For more information about our partnership with ROON, please see: Title of Page. They are a great partner and I am sure will be happy to assist further.
Thank you for choosing NAD Electronics, HEART+SOUL You Can Hear.
First timer here in this thread… though I’ve been having the same problem described in this issue for months. I’ve received various BluOS updates over that time and none of them have fixed it.
My BlueOS devices are (as of 2023-12):
Device
Version
Bluesound Node 2i
BluOS 4.2.0
Bluesound Pulse Flex 2i
BluOS 4.2.0
Monitor Audio IMS-4 *
BluOS 4.2.0
NAD T-778
BluOS 4.2.0, MCU 2.24
* (essentially a rebranded NAD CI 580), it has 4 channels
All devices are hardwired over a 1GbE network with DHCP reservations, all devices are on the same subnet.
Roon Setup
ROCK on an Intel NUC running 10.9.6.23
Roon Server version 2.0 (build 1353)
Roon Controllers (many, both ios and android, but all up to date)
Issues include:
Out of sync playback
An output device sometimes just goes missing like this:
There is no networking reason for it to fail the connection. The device is on the same subnet as roon, the device responds to pings, and the BluOS controller app can play it just fine.
I would like to see some definitive response from Roon about what is going on here. Please throw us a bone… are you looking into this? Do you even care?
I don’t care if the result is Bluesound loses their certification, I’ll sell my BlueOS devices and get other properly Roon ready onces.
Just wanted to chime in here and say that I have exactly the same issues, Bluesound speakers go out of sync when they are grouped in Roon (but no issues when using the BluOS app). This is super annoying and basically means that I have stopped using Roon for multi-room listening, which is the reason I got it in the first place. It needs to be fixed ASAP!
Joining this thread, as I’ve been experiencing the same issues as everyone else with 2 Bluesound Nodes and a NAD CI-580v2 (zones going out of sync, playback slowing down/speeding up, skipping tracks).
My devices all updated to BluOS 4.2.6 yesterday, and thus far I haven’t noticed any sync problems in the last 24 hours (fingers crossed). Until now I hadn’t been able to play more than a few tracks without the issues cropping up, and had resorted to running them all through Airplay. I’ve tried several different grouping configurations (including with non-BlueOS Roon endpoints), and so far so good. Wondering if anyone else has noticed improvement with the latest firmware update. Hoping this isn’t just a mirage.

Description of Issue
After a reboot of the BlueSound Node 2i the music in sync with the DCS Network Bridge.
One system is in the kitchen, the other in the living room. Both systems are close enough, so the slightest difference can be heard.
After a while (an hour maybe?) one of the systems is ahead and the difference keeps on growing.
It seems this issue started after the last firmware V4 upgrade of the Bluesound Node 2i.
Can you help?
I decided to update two days ago despite limited feedback at that point, figuring it was unlikely to be worse.
So far my system seems to be running much better with no sync issues observed yet.
Unfortunate to hear it doesn’t seem to be working for everyone, and disappointing that the user community is left to figure this out with no communication from Bluesound or Roon. The release notes made no mention of Roon, so we are basically left guessing……
Roon @support could we please have an update? Is Roon working on it? Is Bluesound? Multi-device play is a key function of Roon for many of us. We used to be able to sync devices reliably. Has there been progress on identifying the cause of this issue and a solution?
Bumping/highlighting this. I am still experiencing this problem every day, and it is hella annoying. I need to know this is being looked into, otherwise Roon really isn’t worth the money for me and I’ll say goodbye. Thanks.
Did you update to the latest BlueOS (4.2.6) and newest Roon?
I did just realize that it seems that my setup is actually playing in sync… (Devialet Phantoms and NAD CI580v2) This has never happened since last summer… so something has definitely happened.
I’m on the latest versions and still experience the problem.
Each time I have to open the BluOS app, go to some radio station, switch back to Roon and only then it plays in sync.
I think action of invoking a function in BuOS is results in synching the players. I my case I just stop and start play in BluOS for the Roon Ready units and synch is restored. Since both Roon and BluOS are black boxes it’s tempting to develop theories about why it works when we intervene.
