Need advice please with HEGEL

I have been today at High End Fair (High End Mässan) in Stockholm and one Hegel employee told me that Roon is coming to H190 during this year’s summer.

Yeah, seems like they are one year behind schedule. Makes me wonder how difficult it is to implement.

A dream come true then…

Roon plans for Hegel Röst, does anyone know?

I don’t know for certain but the impression I was given at a recent HiFi show by a distributor was that this was unlikely as it runs a different, older software platform to the H190/H590 and presumably the anticipated H390.

I was told by Hegel they are launching new products this May that will have Roon capability.

Just wondering since used Rösts are for sale where I live.

@KenS I’m about to buy a Hegel H190 and your comment about Hegel announcing new products in May with Roon compatibility has me confused. Did your contacts say that Roon compatibility would require an all new model from Hegel or are the new product meant to mean that Roon compatibility is coming to the H190? Or both? I don’t want to buy an H190 now and then find that a new model with Roon is coming in May.

Thanks,

I inquired about the H360 and was told it was end of life and doesn’t have the correct hardware for Roon but they would be launching new products in May that would have Roon integration. The H190 wasn’t specifically mentioned but they did say new “products”. My guess (and its only a guess) is all the integrated amps will have Roon…

Thank you. Elsewhere in either this thread or another one someone said that Hegel specifically commented on the H190 having the ‘new software platform’ that allowed for them to add Roon compatibility. So I guess I will have to take a chance as I don’t want to wait for another 1-2 months. Seems like maybe they are replacing the H360 (H390?) to bring it current with the other ‘90’ models. I already have an Allow USBridge I can connect so in the end it seems that waiting for integrated Roon is not that important unless there are other features. What I really want is Airplay 2 compatibility.

Looks like Roon Ready is on its way for the H190, new H390 and H590, though timescale is still a little vague.

Yes. Can confirm this as Hegel replied to one of my support questions with confirmation that Roon-Ready is coming soon. My question had to do with AirPlay 2 support and they also confirmed that they will start working on this right after wrapping up Roon support. Good news!

Of course, the other way of looking at the H390 release is that it’s a good time to pick up a deal on an H360 if you can find one…well, that’s what I’ve ended up doing anyway, as I’m perfectly happy with my Lumin D2 as a digital stage. The H360 sounds fantastic to me, certainly a completely different league to the Rost…I’m very happy

any news?, Hegel h190 is now running on roon ready?

I wish I had good news but delivery dates for Roon Readiness on the H190 have been slipping for over a year.

Hegel is a small company. I suspect with their limited human resources, Roon Readiness is not a top priority.

If/when they do deliver Roon Readiness on the H190, there will be much cheering here.

I have heard from another member that it will come end of August or Fall 2019.

I was in touch with Hegel last week. They said they hope to have Roon Readiness for H190 by the end of the year. The person hinted that the delay was at Roon’s end in terms of the certification process.

Thanks for this info, looks like that we will never get it ready.

I work for Hegel and am one of the people answering on our customer service. Our standard answer is that Roon should be ready for H190, H390 and H590 by the end of this year. I certainly hope that it will be sooner and there are so far no delays in this process.
