Need to clean up bad translations! Admin priviledge requested

Recently i have had the reason to revisit some parts of the Roon GUI which i haven’t seen much use for over the years.

Two issues:

  1. the voting system seem to be dismissed?!?

This particular phrase is spelt bad… And there is no way i can make my 6 year old translation take it’s place! I could use some friends to vote this “bad”, but the “Vote bad” seem to have disappeared?

Point is though, as translation admin for my language i should have the mandate to remote bad spelling, bad grammar etc.

Same thing here, i don’t know if this was auto translated by Danny all those years ago or who made tha crappy translation. Once again, i should have the mandate to correct!

These request are not exactly new, but please, please take our voluntary effort seriously!

In the translation system, you cannot vote for or against any option if you have submitted your own. You need to call on the other users for assistance
I can vote. What is the correct option? Ideal Diskografi? Or Ideal-diskografi?

On another note, someone keeps messing up the Danish section :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:
It would be good to find out who it is and revoke their translation access rights.

“Ideal diskografi” is way better than “Lämplig…”

But, i have always been able to vote the current translation choice as wrong/bad? Perhaps someone has voted my translation “Ideal diskografi” bad…

Still, in the list i should be able to see the count for votes, i believe?

Done :ok_hand:

Yes
Here are my votes and the total count:

No. I’m absolutely sure we can’t. That option is only available if you haven’t submitted your own.
In fact, your vote against other options isn’t even taken into account if you have submitted a new option.
It make sense.

It is a bit of a curiosity, as i haven’t seen this situation previously.

Your explanations makes sense though, even of i don’t agree that a personally added translation, should limit your ability to vote a currently used phrase as wrong or improve’able.

Anyway, thanks for assisting!

Seems to be the only way

The anonymity hinders in this aspect. If one partakes in a team effort, one must also take responsibility for any actions.

The request for mandate to remove bad translations still stands, as translation admin for any language.

I absolutely agree :handshake:
However, as far as can get, this is technically impossible at the moment.
The temporary solution could be to restrict access to the translation system so that it is available only upon a specific request or invitation - much like how ARC and Metadata at Localizely works.
