· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices

Describe the issue

I've recently purchased a Nucleus One -- it boots fine and I can connect to it over the ethernet. I can log on and connect to my Tidal account. If all I'm doing is using Tidal all works fine. However, when I try and add music Roon freezes and I can't seem to connect to after Roon has partially scanned the files (which are on a 4 tb external Samsung SSD. I've tried limiting the imported files to something like 750 albums but the problem persists. Thoughts? Thanks.

@Geo_Alder I have edited the title of your thread based on my understanding of your issue. What format is the external drive?

Thanks for clarifying the subject. The drive format is exFAT. Cheers.

Glad it helps. Ex-FAT should be stable, is it a new drive?

Yes, it’s a new drive,

Roon Support may need to review your N1 logs, let’s see what they say.

Hi @Geo_Alder ,

Thanks for reaching out with your report, and welcome to the forum. I activated diagnostics for your Nucleus and am reviewing the logging, but I don’t see anything specific to this issue. Can you try to perform a full reboot of the Nucleus via the Web UI, repeat the process and let us know the exact local time + date + a few examples of the albums that you are importing that cause this issue?

Thnx for your reply. I rebooted and was adding files this morning (at about 9:15 am PST) and things were going well for a time and then Nucleus stopped importing and saw this screen – it was importing “From Genesis to Revelation” by Genesis at the time.

Hi @Geo_Alder ,

It looks like there was a lot of analysis work happening around when you reported the issue. If you try to edit your Roon Settings → Library and set both On-Demand and Background Audio Analysis to Throttled or Off, do you still notice the issue?

Thanks for getting back to me. I have reduced the size of my library (now done to approx. 5000 albums) and now things seem to be working fine.

Cheers,

George
