I was hoping for either a fiber port or a SFP slot.
I am currently looking for an integrated, so I may wait until that’s settled. Maybe there will be a Titan+.

I would guess that internal spec being transparent would add to a feeling of obsolescence as NUC hardware updates on a yearly basis.
If it does the job spec doesn’t matter.
I don’t think the titan is the thing you would buy if you are after the best spec.
The Titan is stylee and appliance easy. That’s pretty cool.
I don’t see myself ever choosing to use anything other than a ROCK for my Roon server.
I find it challenging when people challenge the spec of consumer products. Surely you spend your money and make your choice.

Has anyone with a Nucleus + “upgraded” to a Titan & if so was there a noticeable performance improvement?

Are they even available for sale yet , the Nucleus One is talking June 24 , I haven’t seen a date for the Titan

I ordered the Titan “upgrade” a few days ago. My FedX app tells me that Roon created a shipping label yesterday but FedX has not picked it up yet. So it looks like it is shipping.
BTW, I like Titan because it is an appliance and is supposed to have faster processing than the Nucleus it is replacing.

My thoughts exactly. A faster appliance is what I am after. I wouldn’t mind the better looks too.

IMHO an SFP/SFP+ should have been standard especially at this price point. I feel that Roon have once again missed a step on this. Happy with my Nucleus +, would only consider investing if there was a nucleus with sfp and more premium internals.

The offer doesn’t give you a choice, it’s just the Titan without a disk. I’ll move the disk from my Nucleus to it. When I bought the Nucleus I bought it without a drive and added one.

I ordered a Stone Titan on Tue. to replace my Nucleus +. I have over 200,000 tracks so the new Titan should provide a performance upgrade.
Hopefully it will ship soon!

With over 15,000 albums, I can overload the Nucleus Plus trying to quickly scroll through the library. Overload results in a reboot. I’m sure I could come up with a few more issues. I really like my Nucleus Plus, but it just might be reaching its functional limit.
It sounds like you need more memory.
Roon doesn’t use swap space (for performance) and will crash if it runs out of memory.

That is probably a memory issue not a processing issue. The server crashes when it runs out of memory and scrolling quickly through the library puts a lot of memory pressure as every album you scroll by adds to it.
What is your RAM? You might try upgrading it and see if that helps, or, just not scroll quickly and use the filter to get to what you want directly.
