New Nucleus Titan?

Thanks guys for the analysis of the issue. It will be interesting to see how the Titan handles my library.

Reboot under your control , say every morning it may well ease things

In summer I shutdown every night , I never see these issues. In winter I do, so I reboot daily if I need to.

Can you upgrade the memory in the Titan as you could with the Nucleus?

From what I’ve seen, yes. You have access to the RAM slots on the motherboard.

my Titan is out for delivery. now I need to understand the migration process:
I just did a backup of my Nucleus Plus to USB stick
I will swap the drive to the Titan
Is there anything else I need to do for the migration procedure?
tia

That should be all that is required… hope it all goes well.

For reference this article will help as check list, it’s for
Mac, Windows, or Linux to Nucleus, rather than a Nucleus/ROCK to Nucleus but it’s still worth perusing.

Thanks for the link
My Titan arrived and is already set up and running: everything works including the Roo Watch extension
I have not swapped the drive yet

My Titan HDMI port does not work, and it is not showing up as an available source
it worked fine on my Nucleus Plus…

I reconnected my Nucleus Plus and the HDMI A and B options are back!
I have put an RMA in for the Titan…

Does anyone have HDMI output working on a Titan yet?
I remember with my old NUC running Rock there were about 5 devices showing and only one worked. Even then I had to reduce the output to 24/48 to work with my Sonos ARC

Not sure the ARC goes any higher. Are not most surround stuff 48/24 anyway for TV/Film. With some of the music stuff being higher. The few discs I have still where only 48/24 for DTS Master and Dolby True HD. Streaming and TV only goes to 48/24.

It’s more that if you don’t limit it in setup, then there is no sound at all for anything set to scale to max X2 etc.

Yes most surround (though not all) is 24/48.
I have quite a few in DTS and 24/96

But I would expect the Titan to work the same way as the Nucleus

I don’t use them but this is how the NUC shows up for HDMI on ROCK

Thanks Mike that was exactly how it showed up for me.

I was away on holiday but I am back now and my DietPi looks like this
I think only HDMI 0 works on my Sonos ARC and I am unsure what the other devices do

It should be NUC 12, because I saw the official website describes the DRAM as 4800M

My HDMI endpoints (unused) on Dietpi running on a NUC11TNHI7 look like:

I’ve never tried using any of them. My AVR is too old and does not support HDMI

Thanks Wade though it looks like @mark_rubin lost patience and has gone back to his original Nucleus.

It would be good if anyone else with a Titan could post their experience to help other’s coming down the line

I am still here……I did go back to the Plus and requested RMA on the Titan, but if they come up with a fix for this, I would be willing to give it a try again……

Hi Mark and thanks for replying.
Has your device gone back yet and I didn’t see any engagement from Roon staff at least not here.

Do you think it is it worth opening a dedicated support post for your issue as then it should be reviewed directly by Roon staff then. I would flippantly mention installing DietPi, but you don’t really spend this much on a Titan to install another OS on it :face_with_peeking_eye:.

I imagine there will be many more users in your position over time and be great to get.a working solution for all of you.

Good morning
I have been talking to Roon staff and they are aware of the problem and claim they are working on it……I am hopeful….I still have the Titan here.
