That’s a positive place and thanks for sharing.
Good luck

well I did give it one more try…and things got worse.
As soon as I tried to make a group of 2 players the Titan started to lose the network: I used the exact cable/Ethernet port the Plus used
once again I reconnected/reauthorized the Plus and everything works: it has the HDMI menu options and grouping works properly

something is corrupt or not right here, and I am done
good luck to you guys

Amazing news Danny for all the HDMI loving the Titan owners.

I do love an occasional bit of multi channel audio from my NUC’s HDMI. It’s a secondary usage but great to have the option available.

Ok, so NUC12i7…

Agreed my 11i7 runs pretty hot even when idle and when on turbo to 5GHz it goes much higher than I would like. I turned off Turbo as its way fast enough at its base 3.4Ghz for Roons needs and keeps the temp down.

Give it a shot if you want HDMI support working on the Titan, and I put in a surprise … support for thunderbolt!

If you don’t feel comfortable with this, @jamie can help.

My Titan is out for delivery today. The Thunderbolt support is a wonderful surprise.

Thanks!!

Just ordered my Titan + stone a few days ago. Super excited to upgrade from my dependable Nucleus+ RevA.

I personally love the Titan’s increase in thermal/power efficiency. Waiting on shipping confirmation. :+1:

The Titan is now playing music perfectly after a bit of a struggle in setup. I find it very responsive compared to my Nucleus +.

Yes all good here now too: I have become an expert in migrating from the Plus to the Titan and back so many times.
Thanks to Roon for the quick fixes

Hey @Mercman, I’m sorry to hear you had challenges with setup. The Quick Start guide QR code should be printed inside the box lid to walk you through set-up.

The Titan Quick Start guide can also be found here.

Our handy Nucleus migration guide is also available for folks who are moving from a previous Nucleus model (or ROCK) to the Titan.

2 questions as I await my Titan shipment:

  1. How much RAM does it come with? I’m guessing 16GB in a single SO-DIMM?

  2. If I…for some insane reason…wanted to future-proof my growing library up-front and add the full 32GB of RAM (I assume 16GB x2) … what exact RAM models should I employ? I have seen mention of 4800mhz DDR5 SO-DIMMs, but have not found confirmation of that.

Please Note: I know that 32GB is pure overkill for my present library size. I know it will bring zero change in performance. I’m simply interested in killing a fly with a sledghammer, up front.

Has anyone taken one of these apart yet? I would love to know what CPU/NUC it is based on.

Interesting that the Titan is shipping out of Simply NUC in Texas…

Hi @Collin_Bruce, you can upgrade the RAM if you feel the need. But, I’d recommend using the unit as is to see if it’s needed. I haven’t had an opportunity to test one yet, but our engineers have said it’s quite a bit snappier than the previous models. You can find a performance comparison against the previous unit at the Roon Store.

I know it’s the nature of gear lovers to try to squeeze a bit more from our equipment if we can, but Titan may not need it. Put it through its paces first and if you still want to expand, simply match the RAM type and hertz when increasing the amount, and you should be good.
