· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
For a while now, my Nucleus suddenly drops contact with my steamer (Meridian 818v3/ID41) and it seems to do so whenever I try to select a new title from my library - and disconnects/reconnects a couple of times before finally playing. I therefore thought this could be a software issue and I have tried to reinstall the operating system (version 1/259). That doesn't work and I get "Status "Failure"", exitcode 44".
Thank you for the detailed description — the behavior you’re seeing (the endpoint disconnecting/reconnecting when selecting a new track, then eventually stabilizing) is very similar to a known issue introduced after the 2.58 update, particularly affecting some Roon Ready devices.
There is an ongoing investigation into this behavior, and based on current findings, a ROCK reinstall does not reliably resolve it, which would also explain why your OS reinstall attempt did not help.
We’d like you to please review this community thread and check whether your experience matches what’s described there:
Hello Vadim, this indeed looks similar. Can’t definitely say it started with 258, but that could very well be. Is there anything we can learn from this “error 44”?
Best, Peter
The exit code 44 you encountered is not related to the playback issue you’re currently experiencing. That exit code is associated with a separate installation problem, which we are addressing independently with our DevOps team.
In this case, reinstalling the software will not resolve the original behavior you’re seeing. At the moment, the best course of action is to wait for a fix from the R&D team, as this is being actively investigated.
