Does Nucleus Titan play muti-channel pcm (flac) files like Auro-3d via its own HDMI output with no or little difficulty?
I have a Nucleus One that connects to a Denon AVR via HDMI and can send FLAC multichannel. Formats like Atmos, Auro-3D, etc. are not supported. Here is the supported formats list:
Thank you for your comments and Roon’s official information.
I understand that Roon supports multichannel flac files but does not grantee successful playback of Atomos/Auro-3D files.
I currently use ROCK and successfully play Auro-3D files using Roon Bridge on Ubuntu OS to send signals to Marantz AVRs (Cinema 30 and SR-8015). Direct HDMI output from ROCK can successfully pass any 2ch files but not Auro-3D files. So Roon Bridge is a must to enjoy Auro-3D immersive audio. I had thought it would be good that I could play Auro-3D files without Roon Bridge by using Roon Nucleus’s HDMI output.
I may be wrong about that, actually. If the Auro-3D are embedded FLACs, some people do indicate they can play them. Carry on!
