For me, jazz and classical music addict, means nothing.
Yeah. And for me, a bunch of other things means nothing. Nevertheless, I recognize that they mean something for other users and thatās fine.
Itās the same with every other consumer software.
A typical Roon Reply to a legitimate question. This is exactly why I rarely come here!
Only the thread title pretended to be a question. The actual first post revealed that the OP had already decided what the answer was for them (and itās completely legitimate if the feature isnāt useful to them) and so the whole first post was just yet another complaint.
This whole thread is ridiculous, there is a new feature in Roon, there is a free trial, you can choose to access the free trial. If you like it, you can subscribe and enjoy it. If you donāt like it, you can walk away without having spent anything.
The level of passive angst is embarrassing, you donāt have to use Nugs, it is optional.
It isnāt ridiculous to ask the question āwhy?ā. This allows different perspectives and opinions. This isnāt passive angst, not is it embarrassing. For those who donāt like the thread then thereās always the mute option.
Iāve got an opinion,
youāve got an opinion,
weāve all got opinions!
Indeed. And we should be able to share our opinions without somebody else declaring the whole thing ridiculous. There are lots of interesting perspectives shared in this thread and Iām glad that people have contributed in the way that they have.
I stand corrected, I should know better.
ā¦.I completely agree
I tried to do the Nugs trial, but couldnāt get it to work. Did sign up, but Nugs wouldnāt let me do anything.
$25 a month is a lot to ask, wish I was able to see what the hype was about.
Are you able to access it successfully via www.nugs.net? If not, then that needs to be addressed to Nugs support.
If you are, and the problem is in Roon, exactly what happens when you try to access it?
I can login and see Nugs - but canāt do anything.
It may be that I did not follow the desired path, didnāt input a credit card - wanted to research a bit first. Have a profile, but donāt know what kind of shows I could potentially see (or hear - not sure what Nugs will do).
Would be nice if we could get a free concert experience on Nugs without making a commitment. Doesnāt have to be music I like, just to be able to see what it is like. Also being able to see the catalog of available content would be helpful.
Nugs is primarily about jam bands. Jam bands play different shows every time. Fans want to listen to them all. As a long time nugs subscriber, I pushed for integration and Iām grateful that Roon listened.
Strange so many people seem upset at this new integration.
I canāt speak for many, but personally Iām commenting on the value proposition, as per the nominal topic of the thread.
If it helps Roon generally, then sure, go for gold. But the marketing folk had us believe this was a major enhancement, rather than a partnership with a niche appendage.
It was a major enhancement for me, for sure. Others also. Hope you get one for you someday soon.
Iām no computer programmer but how much actual work would it have take the Roon programmers to get Nugs working via Roon? Itās hardly a big dealā¦ā¦.
And thatās why you have no idea how much effort is needed. A common misunderstanding because software isnāt tangible.
Soā¦. Bandcamp integration has 106 votes. Just sayingā¦
Iād like to see Bandcamp integration, too. However, it takes two to tango.
If I have an unidentifed album from Bandcamp, I add it to Musicbrainz. Job done!
