"Play Now" Button and Roon Radio in main App Genres Pages not working (but it works in ARC) [Ticket In]

Hi,
I had opened a support ticket in August 2023 ( https://community.roonlabs.com/t/genre-discrepancy-between-roon-windows-app-and-arc-ref-ti4yvr/250157?u=riccardo_sicheri ) and I still have the same issues.
The main issue was, and is, the following one (see below) and since it's important to my music playing and my previous thread closed automatically I wanted to check if there were any updates on when it will be fixed:
I can't use the Play Now button, and consequently I can't use Roon Radio, from genres where I don't have albums in my library. I can do this in ARC, but I can not do this in the Windows app.
This means I can't explore genres without the workaround to add unknown albums to my library just so I can start Roon Radio from that given genre; and I don't like the fact that I have to add albums I might not like to my library just to be able to enjoy Roon Radio from an "unknown" genre.
Until now, I had to use ARC to start Roon Radio from those genres where I don't have albums in my library.

I run the Roon Server in my Windows 11 laptop (HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0013nl), Intel(R) Core™ i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz, 1498 Mhz, 4 core, 8 processors, RAM 16GB. I move around a lot so it's always connected to Wi-Fi and I use the laptop also to listen to music.

@Riccardo_Sicheri Thanks for opening this. It seems to be the same issue as that which I raised here Unable to play "Roon Genre Radio" from main Roon application but works with Roon ARC

The support team acknowledged the issue and @connor stated that the issue was fixed in Jan but the two of us have seen no evidence that the issue was resolved. My thread was closed. I tried to reach out to @connor to get the thread reopened and also tried creating a new support thread. So appreciate you raising it here.

There are, in fact, two bugs with nearly identical symptoms here.

We resolved a server-side issue related to Roon Radio not initiating from the Genre Page.

What you’re reporting here is an additional product discrepancy between ARC and Roon with the actual Play Now button action on the Genre Page. From my understanding of development’s notes on this, we had to fix issue #1 to fully expose the mechanism for issue #2. This may also be a regression of Issue #1, so we’ll reverify that, as well.

Development has an open ticket for this to be fixed - we’ll track this issue here since it’s separate from the previous thread.

The new update (Roon 2.0.32 - build 1392) seems to have fixed this. I can now see a new “Start radio” button in the genre pages where I don’t have any album saved in my library and so I can finally explore new genres with Roon Radio from the Roon app. Thank you! :tada:
