Play Random Album

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone figured out a way to play random albums? Basically shuffle of library albums but on an album level, not on a track level.

I prefer to listen to the whole album and when I can’t decide what to listen to or I need to decide fast cause I’m driving I would prefer a shuffle of albums. Where Roon picks a library album at random, plays the album track by track and then skips to another random album.

I was expecting the shuffle function in the albums section to work like that but It shuffles tracks. So it works just like the shuffle button in the tracks section.

Appreciate any tips. Could be a feature request maybe, if there’s more people wanting this?

I would just go to My Tracks, click Shuffle, and then go to the album for the first track that comes up and play the album. It’s like 2 clicks more.

This is okay if you’re home and can interact with you phone without issue but it’s a dangerous hassle when you’re in the car driving. Also difficult to handle with Android Auto UI on ARC.

You hadn’t mentioned ARC or CarPlay/Auto :slight_smile: Yeah I see that. Maybe add that hint to the feature request if it’s not there yet
