Plays, then won't play. Error on firmware update

“It will play a few songs, then gets scrambled up, and won’t play another track. Has to be turned off and back on. Always an error trying to run a firmware update. 2 days ago, I put a different Nucleus in the chain, same wires, no problems at all”.

Original Roon device, thank you in advance!

I received this from a client and trying to help him out. Thanks for your suggestions!

Hello @Robert_Meeks

Let’s try this:

  • Create a fresh backup

  • Stop RoonServer from running in Nucleus’s WebUI

  • Navigate to your Nucleus’ Database Location

  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”

  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”

  • Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Database

  • Reinstall Roon Os from the WebUI

  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database

  • If everything starts up as expected Restore your Backup prior to the issue starting

Hi @Robert_Meeks,

If we know the specific error message shown in the Roon UI, we’ll be positioned to troubleshoot much more effectively.

Intermittent audio dropouts tend to appear more often when the endpoint is connected via WiFi instead of ethernet. Ask this user to try a hardwire connection if it’s a network Zone with which they’re experiencing dropouts.

Does this issue affect streaming service content, local tracks, or both? Is this a mesh network?

The more information we can have available from the actual user, the more precisely we can assist.

Thank you!
