Poll: What's your favorite streaming speaker to use with Roon?

 I can assure you that my Gnome is still in pre Newport Folk Festival mode.

The power cable is for the outside lights.

Although first introduced back in 2015 the streaming B&O Beoplay A6 speaker, which has Bluetooth, AirPlay and ChromeCast, is a very nice sounding unit.

I have two JBL wireless speakers, JBL Link 20 which
is portable so used outside via Chromecast with Roon and BT when we take it away with us. JBL Link Music in the kitchen again using Chromecast. This replaced a SB Radio that the wireless finally stopped working. Don’t use any of the wireless actives out there passives and old fashioned amplification for me. But have a pair of powered QAcoustics BT3 which are fed via line in from a Wiim Pro Plus which is wireless so almost a true wireless speaker.

I think that ChromeCast is not getting enough love from the Roon users. Sure Roon Ready is the preferred streaming protocol when using Roon but I do find that ChromeCast is as at least as good AirPlay. Others may feel differently.

I only can use Chromecast on the Link20 but have option of either Airplay or Chromecast on the Link Music. For these devices not sure they are any better one way or another, the speakers are too limited in range and quality to notice, Both Airplay and CC work well via Roon I dont think the extra resoluton CC allows gives it any advantages for me at least.

To me Chromecast is far superior.

It‘s lossless and doesn‘t stop playing when somebody calls or when leaving the room. And it integrates nicely with other functions in Google Home.

Clearly the winner. :grinning:

None of the above (4 choices). Roon music is played back via Bluetooth from an iPod. (The tub is used as a laundry basket). I turn music on when I am changing to gym clothes.

I posted this photo a year ago in another Roon thread.

JBL Charge WiFi left-right pair. Easy to move to the backyard deck or anywhere I want to add music around the house. They are water-resistant too! Not a hi-to experience but good enough for outdoor barbecues.

Roon connects seamlessly, just turn on the pair and within 15 seconds they play music via RAAT.

Costco discounts them occasionally to about $140 each.

Yes, the Charge 5 WIFI version is Roon-ready. Two Charge 5s can be paired into left and right speakers using the JBL app.

All music is resampled to 48khz/24bit.

I just added a Chromecast Audio puck (I stocked up when they were on clearance) to a Klipsch The Three II which resides in the living room, using an Ethernet adapter rather than WiFi. Aside from adding sampling rate conversions in Roon to deal with some ticks and tiny dropouts (I don’t think the CCA puck has the horsepower for 24/96, although it’s works on others I have), it works well enough for background music in the living room.

I forgot to mention I have a pair RIVA Arena speakers. They sounded quite good, but the firmware and radios are so flaky in them that neither one will connect to anything anymore, and their support was so poor that I gave up on them. So the portable batteries are now ruined from lack of use, and they’re only good for using via their AUX inputs.

Chromecast speaker groups are not getting enough love from Google. Things worked pretty well until the Sonos settlement.

Koristim Kef Ls 60 i ne treba mi bolji. Sa roon svira savrĹĄeno.

I use two “endpoints”: My Roon Ready streamer Cambridge EXN100, and the Nucleus One connected from USB output to USB input in my SPL Director mk2 DAC/preamp. The sound quality of both connections are absolutely awesome :hugs:. Actually it’s hard to tell a difference between the two - both when listening to my Amphion Argon 3S speakers, and Hifiman HE1000 Stealth headphones.

I have a few but Kef LS60 is the clear winner. Mine are rigged up with a couple of Kef subs and it’s a very impressive sound ,better than conventional systems at a comparable price. Integration with Roon is stable, works a dream

I’d best not admit how many times I’ve looked longingly at the KEF LS60 and dreamt of a similar system @Adrian_Folland.
