Roon Nucleus One is defective. Popping noises only occur when the Nucleus is plugged into my system. When I unplug it my system is happy with no popping noises. I had an Intel NUC before with no noise. This is the only piece of hardware I replaced and it is very easy to duplicate the problem and make it go away; I just plug or unplug the Nucleus One. The support team says this is a power issue with my system and to that I say ■■. The only time I have ever had this problem is with this Nucleus plugged in. It is VERY EASY to isolate the problem and associate it with the Nucleus one. I believe this is a defective unit and am asking for a replacement.
In using the Typeform system you’ve raised a support request for assistance from the Support Team. You should have taken a different route through the system to raise an RMA request to get your Nucleus One replaced. For example:
Thanks for reaching out. Just to confim this issue happens without music playing at all, is that correct? There is a known issue where there can be popping noises if you use a lower sample rate in TIDAL, and you can setRoon Settings → Streaming → TIDAL → Edit → Set sample rate to Max to resolve this, but if this happens even without any playback it does sound like a power supply issue. Please use the Nucleus hardware form to reach out to our RMA team (unless it is related to the TIDAL issue I mentioned above):
The noise is there when the Nucleus is plugged in. Slight popping noise can be heard through the speakers independent of source. I can hear the noise when I am using my Roku or the TV. It has nothing to do with Tidal since I do not use Tidal and the noise exists as long as the Nucleus One is powered on. As soon as I power down the Nucleus, the noise disappears.
