I am not very IT savvy but have enjoyed learning more about IT since using Roon

I can now see how to set this up but don’t understand why

Why does Roon need to be a separate user?

Your Roon Core is on a ROCK - which means that it is running on a Linux operating system. Linux is not particularly au fait with Microsoft accounts. Therefore I don’t think you can use the email address form of your username in Roon, which means that you need to know what the underlying username is in your Windows 10 system, and use that instead. This is usually the name of your user folder in C:\Users. You can use this, but I just prefer to set up a specific local account dedicated to Roon’s use only.
