QNAP core unstable

QNAP edition is running Roon (1.8 build 831) on a TVS-873e with latest version of firmware 5.10.60-qnap. Last couple of months (last 3 FW versions last 2-3 versions of Roon) the Roon on QNAP has been unstable and brittle constantly initialising and restarting the service, The QNAP device has 32GB of memory and very little else running other than NAS duties. There are continuous logs being rotated.

Most errors are network or name resolution related.

In order for Roon’s @support team to better assist you, please provide a brief description of your current setup using this link as a guide.

Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so they can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating.

My QNAP core has completely stopped working (none of the Roon client apps can see it). I’ve given up on QNAP as a core as it seems to be totally unreliable and unsupported by Roon. I’ve now bought an Intel NUC to run ROCK as the core using the music files on the QNAP and that seems much more stable.

Welcome to the forum! We recently released a new build of Roon for QNAP, can you please confirm the behavior is the same on this build?

What does your network setup look like? Please provide router / networking gear details. If you can upload to Dropbox / Google Drive a system log from your QNAP, that can also assist with debugging, you can access it by following these instructions:
