QNAP + TIDAL Issue

Hi @Lam_Rick I have the same problem with a similar setup. Was it any solution on this?

Hi @Michael_Ofverberg,

Welcome to the forum! So we can better assist you, please provide a brief description of your current setup using this link as a guide.

Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so we can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating.

Are you having this issue playing all types of TIDAL content or just AAC files?

Hi

  1. Netgear RAX200 router/firewall
  2. Wired D-link DGS-1100 gbit-switch
  3. Wired Qnap HS-251+ silent NAS
  4. Wired Pioneer SC-LX704 AV receiver
  5. Ipad roon client wi-fi
  6. Windows 10 roon client wi-fi

Roon 1.7 build 710 (current)
Before build 667 (i think it was), streaming Tidal via Roon worked just fine. With build 667 it did not worke anymore. I can stream Tidal directly from the Ipad, so there is no problem with my account/subscription.
In the RoonServer_log I can see that the connection to Roon client is lost.

Hello @Michael_Ofverberg ,

It looks like this thread was auto-closed, did you mean to mark this as resolved or was it accidental?
Does the behavior occur on both QNAP and Windows as a Roon Core if it is still ongoing?

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Open Roon on the other PC you wish to try as the Core
  • Roon Settings → General
  • Disconnect
  • On the “Choose your Core” screen, press “Use this PC”
  • If asked to Unauthorize, you can go ahead and do so. You are limited to one active Roon Core at a time but you are free to switch between them as often as you’d like.
  • Verify if the same behavior occurs on the different PC

Hi @noris
It was accidental :-), but I solved it.
I read another thread about the ffmpeg file on the QNAP NAS and I followed the instructions and copied the 4.3.0 version, restarted ROON and then all worked again. Thank you.
Michael

Thanks for the update @Michael_Ofverberg , marking this one as solved in that case.
Happy listening!
