Qobuz media loading slowly. This may indicate a networking or connectivity problem

Your Roon library includes local and streaming media; irrespective of source, they are part of your library, and determine database size and performance.

This depends on the device you’re using to control Roon. However, if you haven’t changed this, then most likely you are using your ISP’s DNS servers. It is a good idea to change these to either Google, Cloudflare or Quad 9 in your ISP modem / router.

Ok so maybe I should lessen my Roon library? Do you think that will solve the problem?

I will try to change DNS servers as well. Thanks!

There no need for this. How large is your library as reported by Roon?

Hey @Garret_Ganesh,

Thanks for letting me know. Does this only happen with Qobuz media?

First, test out hardwiring your core directly to your router, bypassing any switches or network gear in between, and let me know if you still have these issues.

If so, I would also remove Qobuz, reboot your core, and re-log into your Qobuz account. :+1:

I actually downloaded Tidal to try and still the same issue.

I did directly connect from router and still occurs as well.

I did logout of Qobuz, reboot core and logged back in, issue still persists.

Hey @Garret_Ganesh,

As a next step, lets refresh your core database to test if the issue persists on a fresh database. Steps to follow below"

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon Database
  • Stop RoonServer from running in Nucleus’s WebUI
  • Navigate to your Nucleus’ Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Database
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Core” and connect to the new database

Then, try to reproduce the issue prior to restoring from a backup. :+1:
