Maybe Harman would buy them, if necessary.
I got the usual email that my subscription would auto-renew unless I cancelled it, and then I let it auto-renew as usual, which happened on Sep 1, two days before this thread was opened.
And I don’t see this 3 year offer anywhere in my account - I have Sublime.
Afaik it is for Studio Solo only. No idea what is going to happen with Sublime. I have Sublime as well.
Yeah, that was clear already from further up. I intended it just as info for @mcmidi ![]()
It’s OK, I am happy to pay them a bit more.
If the price were to rise by €18 per year as indicated in a post above, I will hardly notice. I’m in the US and have not received any notice of such an increase… Yet. I remember not that long ago Tidal’s top tier was $20 per month.
Edit to add:
My subscription renewed in March at $140.26 per year. For some reason it was $142.08 in March '24. In 2023 it was the same $140.26 as this year. The annual subscription seems to be the best mix of cost and flexibility to me.
Got the offer here in S. America (Argentina) too.
Don’t think I’ll be going for it, though.
Tidal has a “Location weighted rate” , in South Africa there is only one tier and its R70 = USD 4, Apple Music is the same
I wonder if they relate to the Big Mac Index ![]()
I can’t get Qobuz but I don’t think they do this
If there was a 3 year sublime offer I would probably go for it. I’m 90% streaming my own files through roon and at the moment I rather buy used LPs. Qobuz Studio is something I only subscribe to occasionally.
Qobuz also does that. It costs about 4 USD/month in Brazil. They also offer well curated magazines of local music and highlight it in the weekly offers and playlists. Unfortunately, Roon degrades this experience because it just can’t “understand” music created outside the US and UK.
It’s possible we’ll never know. They could be having money problems or they may believe consumer inflation weariness provides them a short term window of opportunity to generate some additional income.
And I have a better proposition - let’s not pay anything for 3 years, and after those 3 years, let’s pay the entire arrears!
After thinking about it, however, I think both options (mine and Qobuz’s) are rather absurd…
Not more absurd than getting a Roon lifetime license (which I did)
If it makes you happy, who are we to judge?
Exactly my point ![]()
Sorry could you expand on how Roon ruins music? Cheers and thanks

Something is missing.
I cannot find any indication of a price increase in the UK yet. This makes the offer of a freeze unattractive.
Having renewed on 1 September, the upside is that the offer will only cost c. two years. The downside is that the savings will only be two years.
As already recognised, this is a similar decision to Roon lifetime but on a much more limited scale.
That could save many thousands in the very long term, whereas two or three years of Qobuz price adjustments is unlikely to be worth even close to £100 and could even be zero or negative.
