Description of Issue

This is related to a support request from a few days ago; see https://community.roonlabs.com/t/unable-to-set-up-audio-other-than-roon-tested/203276/5.

I have once again lost access to Intel(R) Device Audio and ASIO4ALL v2 audio drivers.

I have tried a clean install on reboot, having ensured both …\Roon and …\RAATServer directories were deleted.

Upon installation, I am again only presented with Roon Tested access to my AVR via AirPlay 2, while my preference would be to use ASIO, and am unable to add any other audio devices.

RAATServer_log.txt reads as follows:

So, RAATServer.exe seems to be finding the various output devices but, because it is not launching, does no allow me to configure them.

As per my previous, roon.exe and RAATServer are listed in application exceptions in my VPN – which is actually not running – ; roon.com and roonlabs.net are listed as Website exceptions in the split tunnelling section of my VPN (Bitdefender VPN v. 25.5.4.4).

Any help in addressing this issue would be much appreciated; I’ve already spent a good half-dozen hour this week in trying to figure what it going on and to tix it, and my inability to do so is increasingly frustrating.

’K, after yet another install – the sixth or so today – I seem to have a stable installation.

What I would like to know, however, is just what is going on and how to try to ensure it doesn’t happen again in future.

It’s immensely frustrating when all I want to do is sit and listen to music and I’m uninstalling Roon and deleting directories and reinstalling Roon and checking to see it RAATServer.exe is running if I suddenly find myself without an audio output device and then ending the process to see if that helps.
