Yes, the app pulls whatever the genre tree is that you have in the Roon app.
Mmhh… So something’s not working…
@Daniele_Piancastelli I’m not sure what’s going on there – as I test on my machine, Roon pulls the top level of the genre tree and then sorts by number of albums.
Also, I misspoke above about 18 top-level genres. Roon allows as many top-level genres as you set in the Roon app.
This is great! I’m wondering if it would be possible to specify which profile is “sending” it to Roon. I have two profiles and I think it is just picking the first one in alphabetical order.
Also, would it be possible to add functionality to define an “album”?
My use case is that I have a lot of singles that are 1 or 2 tracks that are “albums” so I would want this only consider items where Album Type = Main to filter those out.
Everything else about this is wonderful. Thanks for doing what the Roon team has not done yet ![]()
Glad that you’re enjoying the app!
As far as I can tell, there’s unfortunately no way to select a Roon profile through the API, so that can’t be added to the app.
And the API doesn’t expose the various album types either, so there can’t be a filter by album type.
(If someone can correct my understand of the API and point to a way to do it, I’d be thrilled to add these.)
Thanks for looking into it and the response. Hopefully Roon can open up the API more…
You’re welcome – I wouldn’t hold our breath for enhancements for the API, as Roon hasn’t done anything to improve the API’s functionality in years and years.
Sorry, but that’s incorrect.
I suggest you try using “Community Remote” and check its log file.
