Regular dropouts on both streaming and internet radio, especially when they appear out of the blue or when you scroll in Roon, are a rough place to be. Since your provider has already tested the system on their side, we’d like to enable diagnostics on your account.
Please let us know the exact local time, date, and track when the issue next occurs. That will give us a clear point to check against the diagnostics.
Also to note, we have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?
Thank you for your patience and we’re sorry you’ve been facing these issues. Diagnostics show two classes of failure when attempting playback from your Roon Server, affecting Tidal and Radio Paradise, respectively.
In the former case (Tidal), we see at least five direct playback failures in the most recent logs, all of which result from Tidal’s API returning a 401 Unauthorized response to Roon’s request for the stream URL. In short, Tidal doesn’t think your account tier is authorized to play these particular tracks.
Please first verify that your Tidal account is the correct tier and currently active. I recommend signing out/back into Tidal in Roon via Settings → Services.
Do you have any problems playing from the Tidal app directly?
Are you using any consumer VPN? You mentioned an enterprise security switch in your initial description; what is the actual network topology between the internet and your RoonServer machine? What about between your Roon Server and the Meridian endpoint to which you’ve been playing, based on logs?
Do you have these dropouts if you play to the iPad speakers instead of other Zones?
Lastly, you mentioned Roon is crashing. This supports what we see in logs, and it’s the latter symptom I mentioned with Radio Paradise. What specifically occurs in Roon when you attempt to stream this station? We see tracks queuing but failing to initiate the stream.

The programs are slow and take a very long time to “think” before there is a response; Tidal, in particular, is struggling.
