Release RoPieee 2023.04

Hi Harry,
Thank you for the new release. My 4 RPI are upgraded.
But I have a small question. Will the red logo (and also the XL specific branding) come back in a next release?
I find the new B&W logo looking a littlebit cheap, compared to the old one.
Of course, this is only a minor detail, but it would be nice to see those colors back when logging on to Ropieee. Now it looks rather like an “funeral card”.
Thanks for all the good work, Frank.

hehe

It all depends on taste of course. Personally I don’t like the red color

But your not the first one, so maybe I should put it back and ask a designer about this.

With respect to the XL specific logo: that won’t return. I’m planning to make XL just RoPieee: it does not make sense to maintain 2 different versions while most people download XL anyhow.

Thanks

Hi Harry,
It is your product, so you decide. You will not hear me complaining about the color of the logo if you wish to keep it like it is now. But thanks anyway to consider turning it back as it was.
By the way, great product, your Ropieee!
Kind regards, Frank.

This is happening to me as well. Two PecanPi Streamers each running Ropieee but Devices only showing the one (ME) I accessed. @spockfish - do you want my logs as well? FWIW, both of mine have static IPs. Neither are wireless.

Thank you for doing all this really useful work! My ears appreciate it. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m running RoPieee on a RP 400. The DAC HAT attaches via an adapter to the GPIO port. Unfortunately there is no display edge connector on the 400. Is there a chance down the road that you might support a GPIO attached display device?

Thank you again!!

Harry, thanks for this latest update. BTW, only one out my 3 RoPieee units got the update. 2 units refuse to get it no matter what.

Keep it on for at least 60hrs

Hi Harry,
I updated my Raspi 4 to RoPieeeXL 2023.04 (0893)
update works fine. my tests with UPnP and LAN connection works fine
only 1 problem
when I hit “advanced / shutdown” it doesn’t shut down but it reboots

Confirmed

That’s an unfortunate regression. Will be fixed soon.

I have had mine on for as long and it’s still not seeing the update. Interesting.

Same here. RoPieeeXL 2023.02.1 (0757) refuses to see the new version. Re-install?

See here - it needs 60 hours of run time before the update

Mines are ON 24/7 and only 1 out 3 got the update.

Can you send me feedback?

But … this unit is not on for 60 hrs

Hmmm… never mind. That is not the issue :-/

Well - kind of. I rebooted it when nothing happened for two days or so.
Thanks for your reply - I will be patient.

Hi @BeeKay ,

Can you try something out?

Switch to the ‘test’ update channel (on the advanced tab), configure, reboot and wait.

I hope :crossed_fingers: that it will then report update after 5 minutes or so.
Can you let me know how this goes?

Thanks
