You got some money (lifetime),
but… it’s not yet working properly.
The license is activated, and ADI setup followed your guide, but I can only get “rooControl Volume” in the volume control menu and not rooADIVolume.
What did I miss?

I found out ![]()

Edit: Finally got everything properly working.
Amazing tool indeed!
Just a suggestion, it would be nice to be able to change the icon of the output selected device with an icon of the RME DAC, even a “generic” , not necessarily including the exact type of RME device ![]()
Great you made it

The icons cannot be changed by me. Ask RME to send Roon one if its DACs to get it Roon Tested. After that it will have a proper logo.

Honestly, it’s exactly what I was looking for.
I no longer need to rush to the Macintosh amp or the RME remotes to increase or decrease the volume when I move from one place to another or when the phone suddenly rings.
I can efficiently manage to get the exact volume I want according to my seating position, mood, and social environment.
My phone (or other Roon control apps such as MacBook or iPad), whatever is nearby me, is my remote…
Once again, Con.gra.tu.la.tion !!

Hello,
Question for you related somewhat to your system setup and RooPlay.
You have mentioned in some of your posts that you are using your RME ADI-2 as input for your turntable, assuming you are doing your x-overing etc. in Roon, how does this work?
In other words, are you not bypassing the Roon Muse for your turntable input in the RME or have I misunderstood something?
Brgds,
Peter
I’ll come back to you with details when I’m back from the Mnich HighEnd Show next week.
Please stay tuned.

Hi,
Sounds good, looking forward to hearing more about your setup.
On a related note, I have a Holo Audio Red that I am currently not using, would I be able to use it to run rooDial and rooPlay at the same time. I would of course need a USB hub and an ADC for my turntable if this is possible.
Brgds,
Peter
Did you forget me ![]()
No, but still on holiday in Italy till Sunday. I’ll get back to you on Monday.

Perfect thanks and enjoy your vacation.
I did get rooDial up and running on the Red, which was a breeze but it does seem a bit like overkill.
Brgds,
Peter
First of all you need a RME ADI-2/4 Pro as this device only has RIAA capabilities for the turntable.
You also have to run the ADi in Multichannel USB-Mode. This is the schematic of the unit in this mode (see manual)
Input Channel 1/2 is for the turntable.
In Roon you have to setup a convolution filter with two (stereo) inputs and eight outputs. This filter includes the XO. Also you have to disable downmixing and enable 7.1 in Roon. Doing this the signal path looks like this:
Hope this helps.

You also can use it for rooPlay adding a ADC. For testing I would recommend the Behringer UFO. Also has RIAA ![]()

Still no sure that I fully get it ![]()
Your turntable is connected to the ADI Riaa, which sends the turntable signal to Roon for XO processing etc. and from Roon it goes back to the ADI and out to your amps?
Brgds,
Peter
This is exactly how it works

Got it, thanks!!!
The setup I’m currently “playing” around with is: Roon Nucleus → MacMini via ethernet → Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th Gen via USB → 6 x monoblocks for tri-amping speakers and of course now the Red with rooDial.
All is working fine and I guess I should be able to run a similar setup as yours connecting my turntable to a set of analog inputs on the Focusrite, I do have a couple of different phono preamps I can try it out with.
Thanks again,
Peter
If the Focusrite Scarlett is connected to rooExtend as DAC and ADC this might work.
On the rooExtend Service Page you open in a browser by entering the http:// and the IP of your rooExtend you can find a button named “Show Sound Interface”.
Pleas e-mail the output it generates to info@definiteaudio.de and I can give more information.

Couldn’t you also use an RME ADI 2 PRO FS R with being fed by a phono stage that has RIAA?
The Focusrite is not connected to the rooExtend, I only use rooExtend/dial for volume control.
