EDIT:
I already sent you a e-mail at Aug. 28. :+1:
Please respond to this.

Hi Lin,
seems you did not receive it.

Sorry for my late reply but I was out of office during the last few days.
Please let me know if you are located in China.
If yes I will prepare an image you can burn and that will work there.

Hello,
Is there a way to rotate the rpi lcd panel web display of 180 degrees with Rooextend ?
Thx

No not at the moment. I will see if this can be done with Chromium that I use to display the Roon artwork.

Out of curiosity has anyone else had any luck with a particular dongle? I’ve tried 3 without success (all of which work on Ropieee but their DietPi working seems ambiguous)…before I go out and buy something DietPi dedicated, I’d just be interested to hear if this is working for anyone? Thanks.

:exclamation::exclamation: rooExtend v3.4.3 is out :exclamation::exclamation:

Release 3.4.3 introduces a new feature for rooMax :+1:

More information on this release you will find here.

I found a solution to this request :+1: :+1: :+1:

In future the screen at the HDMI output can be rotated right, left, or inverted (=180deg.)
I will implement it at the end of this month when I’m back from my Croatia holiday

I think I am in the same boat. I am awaiting a Laiv Harmony and have a Roon Nucleus waiting to be set up with it and my network. My favorite area for listening is not hardwired - so I am going to get the house wired with Cat6 wiring and set up a switch (as well as some other fun stuff). But I am sort of stuck wondering how to go from a Roon to my Harmony (and do I need a streamer of some sort in-between them?). Any advice from your experiences with the Harmony would be greatly appreciated!

Tim

Hi Tim,
as your DAC has no ethernet input you need a streamer that supports Roon.

  • If you like to get a cheap solution just get a Raspberry Pi4 and use my rooExtend SD-Card image.
  • If this is too much DIY for you the rooExtend-Box may be a nice Plug&Play solution for you.
  • Also the Holo Audio Red streamer, a more expensive but quite solid streamer may be a solution for you. It also can be used with the rooExtend SD-Card image.

Hi, I’m trying to build a roon extend box, and saw that rpi 5 got release last month. Any plan to add support to that? If not I guess i’ll go get a rpi4. Thanks.

Hi Andrew,
Please go back to Pi 4. the image for Pi 5 is not yet ready.

Can someone make a list with all the USB compatible Bluetooth dongles that have been tested with the rooDial on a Raspberry Pi 4 + the PoE hat, and can communicate with the Microsoft Surface Dial?

I got pointed to the double antenna from ZEXMTE, which unfortunately it cannot be shipped by Amazon Germany to Sweden. In addition, I would prefer a more compact hardware option, as I have a 27sqm room with a coverage problem, so the double-antenna BT dongle from ZEXMTE is a bit overkill for me.

You can buy at Amazon Sweden

Edit:
Please use the rooDial thread for discussions about rooDial

Now I was able to buy it. Yesterday, it appeared that the item could not be dispatched to my address. Someone did some magic in the background - thank you for this!

I received today the double antenna ZEXMTE Bluetooth dongle and installed it into my Raspberry Pi4. The USB dongle has improved visibly my whole setup - now I am able to walk in my apartment with the MS Surface Dial without interruptions.

Thank you again for supporting the integration for this device, I highly recommend it instead of the internal antenna of the Raspberry Pi4!

rooExtend not powering up, Red light stays on regardless of how long it has been plugged in. Have the correct USB power connection. Tried resetting it, but to no avail. Unit draws current and is warm to touch, but green light fails to come on & it is not recognised. Please advise. unit was purchased in December 2023.

Try flashing a different SD card with the latest image and retry

Hello,
How do I get the latest image? I do not see where that is.
Many thanks,
Mark

Please see my PM to you.
