Ok, Thanks.
Hi @DrCWO
I have just noticed that one of my rooExtend boxes got stuck at version 3.3.3. That’s strange as it was ON all the time…
Anyway, can I fix that not losing all the settings?

I checked and the release file is in the repository. Also no one else complained
So I would recommend connecting the Raspberry with an ethernet cable at a hub near your Roon core. I guess there is an issue connecting to the Internet.
Best DrCWO
It’s connected with cable. Network is accessible from RPI shell, ping works, DNS works.
Several restarts didn’t change anything.
What else can be a problem here?
Any secure way to purge logs or anything else?

What have you done that the space is out?
With a fresh image on the SD card 96% of the space is used after the first boot.
After the second boot the file system will be enlarged and only 25% should be used on a 16GB SD-Card. You can check this with the df
command.
All log are temporary so nothing except Linux and rooExtend will be stored on the card. It should never happen with a 16GB SD-Card that it runs out of space.
Best DrCWO
Nothing, I haven’t touched that installation on OS level.
Maybe the other Roon extensions or Extension Manager are generating some logs?

Wow,
Extension Manager and other Roon Extensions are out of my reach.
So best you start with a fresh rooExtend image and maybe get a bigger SD-Card
Best DrCWO
All the settings will be lost then?
Why not save them on an USB stick. rooExtend offers that for my Roon Extensions.
That didn’t work for me several times.
Did you manage to fix that somehow in the meantime?

last weekend I had no internet: Roon worked fine but as it seems all my rooextend extensions were unlicensed. When I got internet again and after a reboot all licenses were valid again. Isn’t possible to add a period time to keep the licenses active in spite of loss of internet connection?

yesterday I started the rooextend box and it kept in the “firmware initializing” mode (2 red flash every 1 second). After around 10 Minutes I plugged the power of an on again, but still the same problem. The green network led was on, but is now off (plugged lan on WAN connector) after I tried it again today.
The support (ATR) has not answered till now and I hope to get a faster solution here…. Hopefully
Hi Joerg,
regarding 1.)
The license is checked every 24 hours as I have to have the chance to disable subscriptions that are no longer valid. After 5 consecutive fails it disables all.
regarding 2.)
Seems your SD-Card is gone. Probably you tured of the rooExtend Box during update. Pleaee mail me at info@definiteaudio.de so I can give instructions how to fix ist.
Best DrCWO
Thanks for the fast response!
I recently set up a pi that came in a kit from CanaKit. The case looks identical to the Flirc case. Do you know if this is true and if your top plate will fit?
If you got this kit it will fit. This is a FLIRC case
Best DrCWO
Sweet! That’s the exact kit I got. Thank you!
miniDSP Device Volume Control for Roon
Does it make sense?
Hi guys,
I like to attract your attention to this thread where we started to discuss the necessity of a Device Volume Control for miniDSP devices. It should be the same als rooADI for RME ADI-2 class of DACs which I offered some time ago.
If you are a miniDSP user please join this thread and let me know if this will make sense for you. If there will be enough interested people I will put it on my list.
Best DrCWO
It certainly makes sense to me. You would be able to use the Quick Keys knob for volume, select MiniDSP profiles, change inputs, put the device in and out of standby,… And you would be able to do this when your source is Roon, or some other like a CD player, turntable, TV, …
Hi, Where could I download rooextend-box firmware? I reinstall system with rooExtend 3.4.0, but it dosen’t work
