Hello,
I can’t respond directly as it’s a no-reply @roonlabs email. Here’s my response:
Hello,
Apologies for not responding sooner. I have the Balena Etcher along with the latest image & I will try the install tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
I should add that this is the first time I have been able to connect the rooEXTEND Box since I purchased it, since our internet was protected with a firewall installed by our Managed IT provider and the router was nowhere near the Roon. We now have a separate dedicated router for the hi-fi which now sits next to the Roon.
Well, I work on the next release at the moment. Also took a look at the Spotify theme and all I saw until now it looks promising
But it will take a while till I will be able to release. Still have al lot of work preparing my listening room in my new flat and also some other personal issues at the moment.
Hi @Art_Set ,
I apologize for my late reply but I was out of office for the last few days.
The answer is YES
I plan to add a new Roon Extension called rooSpot acting as a Spotify client in the next release. It will probably be released till end of January.
I recommend Pi 4 but if you got an old Pi3 you can also use this for a first start. With some of them issues have been reported regarding Bluetooth. So if Pi3 get the USB Bluetooth Antenna from ZEXMTE
Pi 4 works perfectly, thank you. Just bought a whole bunch of roo* apps!
One request: It would be really cool to have a way to use this with Apple Home or Siri.
For example Hey Siri play Nirvana on roosiri (or even better, without!) and it simply plays.
Dear rooExtend users,
I’d like to thank you for your support of rooExtend for another year and for all your suggestions for improvement.
2024 was a challenging year for me. The move from Salzgitter back to Fürth has kept me busy so far. Unfortunately, it also prevented me from being able to offer any new cool Roon extensions in addition to rooMax.
Now my new listening room is finally set up and I am starting the new year optimistically.
The next release will include an update of rooPlay using the Roon Audio API.
rooSpot will also be included to connect Spotify to Roon.
As many of you had hoped, rooIR will finally be published in 2025. I will support Broadlink devices for this. Simply enter “Broadlink” on Amazon and you will get the devices. They are all WiFi-enabled and can therefore also be operated with your mobile phone.
I wish you a merry and peaceful Christmas, lots of free time for your HiFi hobby and a happy New Year.
