No harm, no foul. Apology gladly accepted!
I’m hoping to get noticed by one of the many late night talk show hosts.

Your phone should be ringing now with calls from booking agents.
BTW - I agree completely with your original post, just not in this context.
You are old and you still hear difference (since 1972)! I will applaud you for super hearing after so many years of listening. I thought I am old and I was born in 1972
A mere whippersnapper
Search is much better too! Valance anticipates what I want and automatically changes the music to Lady Gaga. Incredible!
Hey I represent that remark! My hearing is like a fine wine, it just improves with age, that is until it all turns bad.
There are no twos in the digital world. Just sayin’
There must be as you earned second place for telling me!
Speak for yourself! My knobs go to 11!
11 = 3 though
This thread and many others like it reveal a deep underlying fissure within the Roon Community. This fissure is to be expected considering the nature of Roon. Roon is essentially a very advanced computer program which is being marketed to all types of music lovers. This means that there are plenty of very technical Roon users with lots of experience and expertise in all things computer. In addition, there are also many less technical Roon users who happen to own and love their very carefully put together audio systems. Of course, I’m taking a very long winded approach to saying that there are Roon users who are what are commonly referred to as objectivists. On the other side reside the subjectivists. Can these two camps peacefully coexist? I say sure, why not!
To the objectivists I recommend that you keep believing in science but that you let the subjectivists have their own beliefs. When a subjectivist posits that something seemingly impossible to an objectivist results in an improvement in the sound of their audio system, please try not to dismiss it out of hand but rather understand it for what it is: an attempt to get enjoyment from the music. Remember that time will prove whether or not these improvements are real or imagined. But most importantly always keep in mind that it’s their money to spend as they see fit!
To the subjectivists i recommend that you keep in mind that statements and beliefs that run counter to proven scientific facts are going to be met with some pushback from the objectivists. Please try to temper these statements with at least a little room for doubt. And please don’t quote members of the audio press, who may have hidden agendas.
As I said, with a little care and respect we can all enjoy Roon and share the ways we have discovered to improve the enjoyment of music listening.
My versión still shows build 1104.5.
Hope it progress soon and veil is lifted!
Just throw a R2R DAC or a tube amp into the system… that will add another veil or 2 if there is nothing to be lifted anymore
This just shows ignorance. There are R2R DACs that are much more “accurate” than chip-based DACs. Look up the measurements of the Holo Audio May DAC. Well designed and implemented tube amps certainly don’t add a “veil or 2” either. But you keep believing that they do…
CARWOW, ROONWOW,…What is next?
Well one thing besides the sound quality remains constant with each new version of Roon: search is still badly broken.
Here’s just one example.
I have the Quincy Jones album “Walking in Space” and this album is also available in several different formats on both Tidal and Qobuz. When I put “Walking in Space” in the search field (the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner) Roon says “No Results Found”
However when I put “Walking in Space” in the library search field (the inverted horn icon) the album is found with no problem.
Universal Search remains broken. Not always but often enough to be called “broken”.
weird! (I know it’s just the track, but clicking the result gets me to the album…)
what could explain it? (it’s in my library, so that’s the same for both of us)
After rebooting Roon:
When I put “Walking in Space” in the search field - No results found. However when I put “Walking in Space” in the search field and hit “Enter” on my computer keyboard, Roon returns a screen full of results. Go figure.
