Why am I getting this after the upgrade. Anyone knows howto pass rlimits to the roon server?
Is a
There is no plausible explanation for how or why SQ should be in any way improved or degraded by the tasks Roon performsâŚUnless you are using dsp functions, in which case you might want to check that any dsp functions you use might have be reset back to default (disabled) during the update. Sometimes a change in sound can seem like an improvement in SQ. (Analogous to Hawthorne effect.)
Me too. After a smooth upgrade, suddenly I noticed yesterday that I had âlostâ about 900 albums from my library. (I knew, of course, that they actually hadnât been physically âlost.â). A restart of Roon Server app on my sonicTransporter-AP core restored everything. That is usually where I begin trouble shooting whenever problems arise.
Donât disagree with your observations but a fellow Roon user/friend and I noticed better SQ after the firmware update. More than a few other users have also stated this observation. It is curious.
Hello. Apologies in advance if this has already been mentioned, but⌠on the Now Playing screen, the background behind the album art switched from a black background to a blurred version of the album playing upon upgrade. I much preferred the black background. I see no reference to this change in the release materials. Is there a way to change it back? Or is my software malfunctioning? Thanks.
If after any update Roon sounds better and function worse, I imagine by roon 3.0 weâll have the best sounding, not working at all, application on earth!
Serious question. Who curates these Roon curated playlists? Itâs all middle of the road very very safe choices, very mainstream and utterly boring. There is not one playlist that is remotely interesting, not one. Where are the Heavy Metal, Electronic, Indie, Reggae, Country, House, Dance, Experimental, Dub or whatever genre playlists? The world is a whole lot bigger than âjazz for in the fireplaceâ Where is the challenge, the exploration of the unknown? Now we have 15 of the same highly mediocre lists. Can we please toggle them away from my home screen.
If so, then please let me toggle it away. If there are two things in music I truly hate it is christmass carols and Diana Krall and all of her totally uninspiring soundalikes, and what do I get? Exactly, Christmass Carols AND Diana Krall and a whole lot of her soundalikes. I want it out of sight, I donât even want to know its existence
I totally agree Paul. It should not make any difference however my perception is that there is improvement in SQ with this latest update I am generally pretty skeptical about such things. Strange
This has been om my mind for a few days now. I really donât mind jazz and classical music playlist. I do mind when we only get those two genres, or genres like that, in Roon, Facebook, Instagram, Tidal or Qobuz.
It gets old very fast.
I am 63 and listen to black metal and death metal. And I am by no means the only one, in general or on this forum. There is a thriving metal community on this forum and it would be nice to be acknowledged.
I can imagine that those who are into other genres than the standard âaudiophile genresâ feel the same.
There is so much more music then the standard fare. It might be time to do something with that.

Or if, for example, the âre-scan every recordâ also happened before a backup, so that the user could be notified of it at a less-critical juncture. Seems like Engineering 101, to me.
[Edit] Looks like Roon agrees. This feature is in 880: âStarting in this release, we will be detecting database integrity issues âon the flyâ â if corruption is detected during a backup, or during normal use of Roon, the application will halt and the user will need to restore from a backup.â
Maybe they reflect the mainstream tastes of the roon audience. Hope more interesting ones come along later as I too find them safe and too, too much jazz.
