Hi @bernardb50,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
Once you’ve done that please try reinstalling ARC and seeing if it can start successfully.
Hi @daniel, I just reproduced it at 20:47 GMT+1.
I removed and reinstalled it. It works now, but it usually does at first start after reinstalling, it starts crashing after a couple of uses.
Diagnostics have been enabled, but we’re still having difficultly further understanding the cause of the crash. As a next step, can you also test out the APK version of Arc, and let me know if the same issue occurs?
We’ve identified the crash in diagnostics and have escalated to ARC devs. We’ll post here once we have a clear answer.
By all indications, the crash relates to a particular combination of multiple Profiles within Roon, local downloads on the ARC instance, and background connectivity conditions. In any case, it’s not expected or normal behavior, obviously, so you can expect a resolution or fix shortly.
Please try disabling Smart Downloads on the affected ARC instance and let us know if it changes the symptom. We’ll be investigating diagnostics with QA. Thank you!
Hi @connor, disabling smart downloads on the installed version didn’t solve it. But removing the app again and reinstalling with the provided apk without enabling smart downloads does the job for the moment. I’ll stay away of smart downloads for the time being and report in a day or two or when crashes occur again.
Wanted to jump in to say I’m having the exact same issue (on the same phone): it crashes almost instantly even after doing a few clean installs, and after a few crashes I get a “your app has a bug” OS message.
Thank you for your patience. We’ve observed the most recent crashes in diagnostics and this A/B test has helped pin down the mechanism.
Our investigation with Development should produce a more fruitful update soon. We’ll post here as soon as we have further information to share. Thanks!
Looks like bernard had some success though I’m still having the same issue. However, I just managed to set it to offline mode before it crashed again and now it launches fine every time, hopefully that bit of info might be of some use.
