Roon Arc app on pixel 8 only opens to splash screen and nothing else. Tried to uninstall and reinstall but same issue. Does not matter if it is on WiFi or mobile.
We’re sorry to hear about the issue. Please try installing from the APK directly as a workaround, if you haven’t already. This will bypass any issues concerning Play Store synchronization with the update.
Here’s the link for the APK. Please note that the APK won’t auto-update, so you’ll need to uninstall and switch back to the Play Store for future releases.
Problem with this solution. After using the APK, the Playstore version will not update. The new Playstore app hangs at the opening screen. This is on a Samsung S23 latest software installed. The issue is how to sync the apx to the Playstation version.
Thank you for the report. To clarify, do you have both the APK and the Play Store download item present on your phone currently?
The Play Store has its own authentication process administered by Google’s servers, attached as a wrapper around the download package. Sometimes, the Play Store will lag in updating credentials after an ARC release. The issue should resolve itself when their servers update on the backend in the next few hours or days. We’re watching this thread in case that doesn’t happen.
The APK is a static download generated with each release. It’s an alternative to the Play Store track. To use it, you’ll need to uninstall the Play Store build entirely and download the APK anytime there’s an ARC release.
In the meantime, the team is investigating diagnostics more closely.
No, only the APK Version Roon ARC 1.0 (212). The app store Has a Yellow triangle left of the " 1 update pending" notification. In the Pending downloads page, Roon ARC =Couldn’nt update.
Have you tried completely uninstalling the old install before installing today’s version? I think I read in Early Access testing that the fix does not get an install out of this state after it is already corrupted, but that it is supposed to prevent getting into that state.
How has the Early Access branch performed for you recently in ARC? I wanted to check in since we’ve just now released another version in Early Access.
